The week is half over

June 27th, 2007 -- Posted in People, Politics | No Comments »

The halfway point of the week is here, well once I go home anyway. I am not as tired as I was last week at this time, but I am a little worn out just the same. Last night I went to bed a little earlier than normal and got up at the usual time.

Laila and I did our morning routine, and then I came into work but today is going to be another of those quiet days. The military side of the house has another training day so I will pretty much be answering the phone and taking messages, while they are at the mandatory training thing. It is a good thing I am a bit ahead because another day of lost training could have hurt, but since I am ahead it won’t matter.

Also I guess I will be having fun here in a couple of weeks since all the military guys want to take vacation about the same time. They were all looking carefully at my schedule to make sure I am free to teach, which I am. So now they are all happy, since I will be here to cover for everyone.

Yesterday when I got home I saw the news about the death of Chris Benoit and his family. They are saying it must have been Steroid rage and it is really sad and does not make any sense. I guess he killed his wife on Friday, his son on Saturday and himself on Sunday. They found steroids in the home, and I guess he had sent out some bizarre text messages over the weekend. While we will probably never know what happened, it just goes to show that drugs are dangerous.

Also yesterday I guess the Senate held a cloture vote on the immigration reform bill. It was the hot topic on the radio and on Fox News last night. The cloture vote means that they will now debate amendments to the bill. So they are giving the appearance that they are doing something about illegal immigration. Everyone is posturing and all and everyone has something to say. The cloture vote was overwhelmingly approved and passed by a huge margin. This after a pole showed that 79% or the people are against it.

Well the thing that I found funny was that they went ahead and passed this cloture before the bill and the amendments were printed and distributed. I heard that on the Roger Hedgecock Show on my way home from work.

That means that 100 Senators (2 from each state) went ahead and voted to have a bill and amendments go to the floor of the Senate for debate, and since it was not printed and distributed yet not a single one of them had read it. Is this is what we elected them for? They are not representing the people, but their own interests. It is time to start looking for new people for the next election. These people have to go since it is obvious they are not doing their job.

With the commentary I heard last night the thing will never get passed and it is a big dog and pony show. It shows the illegal’s that the government is trying to give them amnesty while it show the people that government is trying to do something about the problem. It will never see the Presidents desk and it gives everyone something to campaign about.

Also I guess the President made a slip of the tongue yesterday and called it what it is, an amnesty for illegals so now they are trying to clear that up.

Basically as I have said, we already have laws on the books and we don’t need new ones, we just need to enforce the old ones. I guess that would be too much to ask for though.

I am also getting sick and tired of the anti war crap and every day hearing that it is a lost cause. The main stream media in this country is giving aid and comfort to the enemy by passing on the enemy’s propaganda. The enemy wants us to leave so they can establish a new terrorist foothold in Iraq. If we leave the whole area will erupt in violence and the terrorists want to make it so unpopular that the people will want to bring the troops home. Once that happens they can set up their training camps and all, and plot and plan to do damage on our shores.

By continually reporting the bad the news is doing just what the enemies want them to do. Paint the war as a lost cause so the people demand the troops be brought back home. If we do that they whole thing would have been a waste of American lives and money. I find what they are doing as despicable.

Well I guess that is my opinion of the day. Time to get my class started on their labs and start taking phone messages. It is going to be a very lonely day here today.

Glad It’s Friday

June 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in News, Politics | No Comments »

Wow, Friday is finally here and I am glad about that. I haven’t blogged about this yet but I guess the latest and greatest I have been hearing on the radio is the fact that Congress wants to reel in conservative talk radio.

It has been widely known that Hillary Clinton and her crowd want to shut it down, but now the conservatives want to shut it down too. Probably because the administration is being bashed on all the major talk radio shows over illegal immigration, with some even calling for the impeachment of the President.

Just hearing this being talked about is a little frightening. Liberals own the most of the television airwaves, newspapers, and the education system. The only voice of reason comes from conservative talk radio and after the total collapse of Air America, they are now going to try and legislate talk radio away.

I look at it as a freedom of speech and freedom of the press issue. If they take these outlets away and still continue to pump us full of nothing but their leftist views I see a drastic change in this country. Frankly I don’t they will be able to do it as I am sure it will result in lawsuits and ultimately be settled by the Supreme Court.

Well enough on that, the tech reps showed up today and sure enough it was what I thought it was, a compatibility issue. We have to modify the pin outs of some of our connectors. So I guess we’ll be taking care of that next week.

So now I am just waiting to get out of here for the weekend and get some rest. It hasn’t seemed like it but it has been a long week and I am really tuckered out.

I will try and blog over the weekend. I have been getting lazy lately and have been ignoring it. Have a good weekend everyone.

It’s amnesty

May 18th, 2007 -- Posted in Immigration, Politics, Unification Wars, Work | No Comments »

I don’t think it is possible to be angrier with the President of the United States and Senate of the United States than I am today. The Senate’s amnesty bill for illegal aliens has me so angry that instead of blogging I am searching for information on impeachment and recalls.

I will support the recall or impeachment of any elected official that supports this bill. Any groups that are working on getting rid of these officials please contact me. It is time to start spending my money on the cause rather than just blog about it.

Anyway I have never seen a day go to hell as fast as today did. Last night a seasoned player accidentally building on his main, causing our reset schedule to get all messed up. We even tried resetting people 2 at a time, but never managed to get everyone done before people had to start going to bed. I went ahead and went to bed at midnight and set my clock early so that I could be up to post for Laila when I got up.

I got up at 5 AM and grabbed a quick shower and all. I made it downstairs half an hour earlier than usual. One player was out and on his way in, and then again the same player that messed up the rotation last night built on his main again. I almost kicked him right then and there. This guy will go ahead and follow the rules for a while and then this crap starts happening. He doesn’t seem to realize that he jeopardizes everyone’s empire when he pulls this act and frankly now that everyone is angry he will square away for a week or so and then do it again. I may have to resign as a LT because I swear I was a microsecond away from making him fedless.

Anyway as a result I left for work and was not there to post for Laila and I will hold him personally responsible for any losses she suffers. That is unfair to have her protect everyone for 15 hours and not have people there for her because of the careless exploits of a greedy player. He says it was an accident but showed his hand when asked to come in by saying he had planned to be out 2 hours. Accidentally built on his main, right, he just saw OP posters for Laila that had been set up in advance and decided to use it. He knew we would say no if he wanted to go out so why not make a mistake and get his wish. He also knew that opportunity was limited as two of us posting had to go to work. I am so angry I may still go home and boot him.

After I got to work we had planned that we would have my class assist the LPO with a few paperwork things. We had to do some kind of power panel report so they were going to do that and I was going to assist the other ET1 by teaching some of the harder receive modules. I figured my class would be here for about an hour working for the LPO and get to go home and I in the meantime would teach the junior class.

Well the LPO kept getting called to the office, and kept getting other tasking so they got started late. Then just as I started teaching the junior class we got a call telling us that they had to go take a urinalysis test. So there went the morning, gone in a flash. Now I am sitting here with my old class listening to them joke around while typing up the power panel report.

Some of them are not too happy, and I don’t blame them. They will be getting out of here soon though, as it looks like they just finished. I will be waiting for the guys from the junior class to come back at they complete the urinalysis and have them catch any of the new tasking that comes from the office.

Well I guess that is about it. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Aggravated

May 17th, 2007 -- Posted in People, Politics, Unification Wars | No Comments »

Well today should be a quiet day. I woke up early, and got down stairs early to find Laila out protecting two abandoned empires from attack. This is one thing that is really beginning to bug me in our federation. Too many people are just leaving their empires up to be protected by others and about 75% of the time the others are Laila and static OP. It is a hell of a lot to expect out of her and I know it stresses her out. I have come on in the aftermath and have seen the PM’s where she had allies help get people in. I used to see where she had her own friends help out members of our fed only to be retaliated against by the very fed mates that were protected. Now she uses her personal allies for only two people, as I only use mine for two people.

Then this morning with her DP about to expire I was the only one live posting for her again. And even that was put on hold due to the unattended empires. This is beginning to get under my skin as night after night and day after day we are protecting these unattended empires. I am about to talk to Sparty and Joe and just come up with a rule that if you do not reset and come out unattended and you have not made arrangements in advance then just use the static OP. These unattended empires are screwing up our nightly resets, as we have to keep people from going out. They are keeping Laila from doing things around the house during the daytime on her side. This crap of just leaving it up to the fed has to stop. If you don’t care about your empire, why should we? Everyone gets a chance to reset every single day. Sparty, Joe, Laila, and I go out of our way to accommodate people often at the sacrifice of sleep and our going out times. I have reset in ten minutes sometimes to keep from holding up others.

I know it is a pain in the butt to sit there posting OP hen you would rather be out fighting. When you are out posting how many people are posting OP for you, and how do they feel about sitting their waiting for their turn? Get my drift, everyone has to take care of everyone else. Anyway, I guess that is enough on that.

I was watching the news last night while posting OP and saw that they are going to give Paris Hilton special treatment in jail after all. She is going to be segregated from the other inmates in a special area and they are also going to give her a break on her sentence. It has me angry as hell. Because she is cute, spoiled, and rich she gets special treatment. She was even caught on tape yesterday smoking marijuana. So again one set of laws for the rich and famous and another set of laws for the regular citizen.

This morning on the way in to work they were talking about taxes. Most people only think of taxes in the form of the income taxes they pay. We also pay taxes on our property, gasoline, electricity, telephone, water, and everything else you buy. The City, State, and the federal government tax you. Sometime this month I don’t know the exact day, you will have started earning your wages for yourself, since prior you were working to pay your taxes if you are middle class as I am.

And where does the money go? It goes to the folks that are too lazy or unwilling to work in the case of welfare folks. It goes to take care of our illegal visitors as they apply for and get all kinds of aid under the various programs that were set up for our poor. It goes to protect our borders from illegal visitors, now isn’t that working well? It goes to build a nice bridge between some of the islands in Alaska so the couple hundred people that lie on the remote islands won’t have to take the ferry, but have a bridge so they can drive, how nice of us.

Our taxes pay for the food and drug administration to make sure we are protected from salmonella, e-coli, and tainted wheat from China so I guess that is money well spent, oops. Our taxes pay for our military to protect us from the terrorists and keep the fight on their shores and not here. Oh but then the liberals want to save that money, bring our troops home and possibly use that money to repair all the stuff the terrorists will blow up.

We spend all kinds of tax dollars on education in this country, probably more than the entire budget of some countries, and yet a high percentage of our graduates can’t read, write, or balance a checkbook. I am continually amazed when I see like a history major from some well known college answers a question on Jay-walking like “Who was America fighting in the Spanish/American war?” and they come up with one of those bright answers like Germany. And where do they find these idiots that players stupid enough to lose on are you smarter than a fifth grader. Enough said about the education system and all the wisely spent dollars there.

All in all the tax system is nothing more than a Socialist scam, to take money from the hard working to give to the non working, and keep that non working voting base voting the right was. It also powers the mighty political machines that trade federal contracts to companies for campaign donations and support. As I watch the debates on TV, and this goes for both sides, I don’t see one person yet that I would trust babysitting my kids let alone entrust the country too. Yeah a few of them have a few good points here and there but there is no all around good candidate, and the congress is a waste. They can’t get anything done other than point fingers and argue. In the meantime look at the country.

Gas prices are up, and it is starting to cause the price of food and good to go up. The illegal immigrant population is up, and so is the crime rate, but then the illegal immigrant is our friend and just here to do the jobs Americans won’t do. Radio personalities’ being fired is on the rise, mainly because in their attempt to raise ratings they will do or say anything. Oh, I forgot to mention during my tax tirade that the publicly funded Federal Communications Commission protects us from vulgarity and explicit sex on TV and radio. That should lower the costs for television related components since we won’t need child filters and all that extra electronic stuff, because we are protected.

Anyway I have rambled on an on, time to get productive. Besides lunchtime is almost over and I will have to get back to work. Have a great week and try to remember how much you pay in taxes and where it is going.

Starting the week in a good mood

April 9th, 2007 -- Posted in Politics, TV and Radio, Unification Wars | No Comments »

Well it is a Monday morning and actually I am in quite a happy mood going back to work. Even though I stayed up a little bit late last night I full of energy and ready to go this morning. I am even in a great mood despite hearing stuff on the radio that stuck a nerve and also the fact that this afternoon I will be doing up my taxes and seeing how much my share is.

Laila and I managed to get all the little happenings in Unification Wars settled down. Sometimes it just takes venting with someone and that is just what we did. We both talked to our fed leader and between the three of us we came up with some ideas to make things run a little better. I wasn’t really as upset as she was and she is back to her old happy self now and everything seems to be fine.

I just don’t want our fed to fracture like others have, it is so better to talk things out honestly and get them resolved before they become a problem. Our leader is an excellent listener and we can freely talk to him. It makes things easy, and he has the ability to calm us down and get a smile back on our faces. Anyway, I am glad things are back to normal.

One thing strange happened last night and it has me wondering. One of our allies recently had a couple of people leave his federation to join one that has been attacking us relentlessly. We expressed our concern and agreed to be personal allies with them. Last night one hit my main. She then gave me this “oops I didn’t know it was you”. We have known each other for a while, so I don’t understand how I could have been confused for someone else by her. I will keep a close eye on the both of them now, and if this happens again they can forget being allies.

Anyway this morning the issue of illegal aliens was discussed again on the radio. It is starting to gain more and more attention and again this weekend the illegal were out demanding rights and drivers licenses. They are killing their own cause as they continue to do this and as conservative talk radio and Fox News continue to show them in action. The Bill O’Reilly/Geraldo Rivera meltdown last week has managed to make it to the mainstream media and with more people watching the factor out of curiosity, more people are hearing the story of the two girls killed by an illegal alien drunk driver in Virginia Beach, Va. This guy had been caught three times prior for drunk driving offenses. If that were any regular citizen they would not be driving, they would be in jail. But illegal aliens have more rights than citizens do in sanctuary cities and they can also scream racism at the drop of a hat.

I can’t scream racism when they refer to me as a gringo, but they can scream racism if I say illegal alien. Anyway, as these bills continue to get adjusted finally some of the stuff needed is getting into them, like people currently here illegally go to the end of the line for visas, can not get citizenship for relatives, and forfeit social security.

As I look back growing up in the 50’s and 60’s and then I look at where the country is now I get alarmed. You would not see people parading around the streets of our big cities carrying another nation’s flag, back in those days. You would not see people demanding rights as citizens, when they are not entitled to those rights. You would not see illegal immigrant drunk drivers turned lose to drink and drive again.

More Americans are being killed in the United States by illegal aliens than we have lost in the war in Iraq. I think the country is just starting to wake up to that as things get exposed in the main stream press.

Actually, I don’t know why we need new laws, we just need to enforce the old ones. Oh, well enough on that subject.

Today, when I get off I will be doing up my taxes. That is where I will find out how much I am paying the government so they can in turn pay it to someone less fortunate than me. You know the people that dropped out of school, won’t get a job, and sit home and watch soap operas and game shows all day on their big screen TV’s. That is if they are not out protesting against the Bush administration and the war.

I heard the whole thing put very well on the radio this morning. The guy with the job pays taxes that go to the schools and those less fortunate. The schools dummy these people down and get them onto the government welfare roles and their representatives continue to give them stuff for their votes. They know nothing of the world around them, they just want that monthly check so they will blindly vote to keep these guys in office. The guys in office will then work to get more people on the welfare roles by any means so their constituency grows. That is why you see all the stalling on illegal immigration. They are trying to find a way for the illegal’s to vote as that is a 20 million strong voting block.

Now the only problem is how many people watch the evening news? I think it comes on opposite “The Simpson’s” so maybe there are not so many watching it. People need to get informed about what is going on and vote for people who will do something. Everyone knows who the “American Idol” competitors are. Everyone knows who the Ladies are on “Deal or no Deal”, but they do not know the Justices of the Supreme Court or who President’s Cabinet members are.

We laugh at shows like “Are you smarter than a fifth grader, or Jaywalking, where people are caught on tape, not knowing the answers to common knowledge type questions. The thing is that we should be crying instead of laughing. These people are voters just like you and me. Wonder how some of these folks in the House and Senate get elected and reelected. It is because they are able to convince these brilliant people to vote for them.

Millions of people here in California voted for Phil Angelides in the last election. He promised to end he war, though he has no power to do so. But he was able to sway the great masses of the uneducated to vote for him.

There is only one way this stuff can be prevented and that is for people to exercise their right to vote. I know it takes time to go vote because of the traffic, the lines at the polls, and maybe you will miss that special TV program you like to watch when you go in the door.

Just remember though, Joe Welfare has no job and can hang out at the polls all day to get his vote in. It is the most important day of the year for him. He and the many like him are going to vote to get themselves a pay raise and more benefits. He and others like him are many, so the working people must take the time and offset these votes.

The time is right for the silent majority to silently do again what they do when angered, and that is to come out and vote some of these clowns that cater to Joe Welfare out of office. If we keep letting these imbeciles get reelected each turn we will continue to spin down the drain as a country.

Well I guess that is enough on that one too. Besides I have to wrap this up. I will be starting class soon so I had better get ready to get them started. I have already gotten everything lit off and ready so I will go get some water to drink and then turn them loose on the gear.

Have and awesome week, everyone.

The weekend

April 7th, 2007 -- Posted in Politics, TV and Radio | No Comments »

Easter weekend is here and I am so far having a quiet morning. Most of the gaming folks are doing family stuff or not online. The kids just called to say that they went to the “Deal or no Deal” thing and are on their way home. David says his paperwork was placed on a different stack than others and he said it was one of two so he may get selected. That would be so cool.

Other than that I did some paperwork and I think I will lay down and watch a movie. I need to get a spreadsheet made up for something in the game but I need a little rest.

On the news front I am wondering why Nancy Pelosi is over in the Middle East. She is the Speaker of the House, not the President or Vice President.

Anyway sorry for the short post but while I have the chance I am going to get some rest.

Giving it all away

January 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Immigration, Politics | No Comments »

I blogged about this yesterday and with very little research I managed to find a few stories to link to about it. First here are the links:

Social Security for illegal aliens
U.S.-Mexico Pact Revealed: Billions to Non-citizens
Social Security billions could go to Mexicans

I am really beginning to wonder if our elected President is the President of the United States or the President of Mexico. When he ran for his first term the President was going to reform Social Security and he still hasn’t got that done yet.

Maybe his new plan is to rapidly bankrupt the program. And again this was all done behind the scenes like the SPP program.

Residents of planned union to be “North Americanists”

When I show stories like this to Laila and the fact that we know all the hassles and trouble we are going to have to go through to get her and her family here legally, we both start thinking of how insane and unfair our government is being with legal immigrants.

Seeing all the paperwork and procedures involved for the Filipinos that come here to work is really mind boggling. First they have to get a sponsor, then they have to go through a screening process. It makes it extremely hard for them to come here to work.

There seems to be a double standard with Mexico though as they can sneak in and then just wait around for the next amnesty program to come along for their automatic citizenship.

Also now that the housing market is slowing down, where are all these people going to work? Better than that how are they going to support themselves? Could be through illegal activities, since they are already breaking the law in the first place. On any given day I can find stories on crimes committed by illegal aliens. Maybe they are on the rise or maybe they are being reported more often now, but it doesn’t take much reading to see that illegal alien crime is a big problem being ignored by the government.

Here is a story I found today in the news:
Gunmen Attack National Guard Border Patrol Site in Arizona

Now our state Governor is going to pay for medical care for illegal alien children, illegally going to our public schools.

Gov. to seek insurance for all children

Anyway, that is my rant for today. Time to get some stuff done.

Another Typhoon

November 30th, 2006 -- Posted in Close To Perfection, News, Politics, Weather, Work | No Comments »

Today while I am at work, my mind is on my extended family 7000 miles away.

Sometime between now and tomorrow morning a super typhoon “Durian” will be rolling through her area. The eye is supposed to cross within 8 miles of Manila so this will be the second direct hit for her city this year.

The last typhoon killed I think the number was 320 people, but worse was that it knocked out phones, power, and closed down travel throughout the country as the roads were blocked by mudslides and debris. This one is even stronger that the last one, so it gives me cause for alarm.

It is also taking an almost identical path as the storm that went through Manila a couple of months ago, so I may have the same problems this time as I had then keeping in touch with Laila and her family. They have already closed the schools and are battening down that hatches.

As soon as I got in my car and left for work I was listening to the news and the first story I heard was how a federal judge has told the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that they must continue to pay for the victims of Katrina which devastated New Orleans 15 months ago. I remember yelling out loud when I heard the story “What?”

How long are we going to have to support these people, the rest of their natural lives? The night the storm hit and right after the President’s declaration of it being a federal disaster area, I donated money to the Red Cross as many of the people in this country did. The Government spent billions and the people donated billions in aid to these victims. It was probably the most money ever donated for a disaster in the history of the country.

Now all I see is report after report of where the money was wasted, spent on non victims, or just plain disappeared. Enough money has been donated to make each victim a millionaire, but the area and the people still want more.

I am sorry for the victims but enough is enough already. This happened 15 months ago. The area is still sinking, the levee’s still can not block a major storm surge, and the area is below sea level. It is time to abandon that area and move to a safer place. It is also time for the victims to get off their dead butts, pick up the pieces, and get their lives back together.

When I was in San Antonio I witnessed first hand some of the victims that were evacuated to the hotel I was staying in. Frankly I was disgusted. They just sit on their butts all day, watch TV in their rooms, and of course take full advantage of the complimentary meals supplied by the hotel.

At night I was awakened several times by noise outside my room, as they were having their drunken parties and living it upon the public’s funds. I did not know that being involved in a natural disaster could be a meal ticket for the rest of ones life, but I guess I was wrong.

I have been distressed by the way the mainstream media portrayed the disaster including Fox news. I was shocked when I heard all the robberies, rapes, and murders were going on during the start of the recovery effort. I was even more shocked when I heard all the news about crime had been made up. The mainstream media in a feeding frenzy for viewers and to out sensationalize each other were actually making up the stuff and were reporting rumors.

All you heard was how the government and FEMA were ineffective in supplying aid, and slow in responding. Well duh, let’s see the roads were out, the helicopters were busy rescuing folks that didn’t evacuate, they had to wait for the storm to pass, and of course communications with the area were out.

It sure would be swell, for FEMA to have the half hour or less service that you get with Domino’s Pizza, but that is pretty unrealistic in a disaster. A lot of the stuff had to be brought in by boat and the boats had to be staged quite a long distance away or they too would have needed to be rescued. As with any disaster mistakes were made by individuals who were trying to do their best.

When I hear stuff like Bush blew up the levee’s, and that aid was not supplied because of race, or even that the hurricane was caused by Bush’s neglect of global warming I just gasp in awe. People are so gullible, and the media in their ultimate wisdom knows this. They actually have managed to get people to believe this crap.

The facts are that a lot of this could have actually been prevented. If the money to maintain the levees was spent on the levee’s they may have held back the flood waters. If people would have evacuated, as the President called for in advance people would not have drowned in their houses. If the knucklehead Mayor of New Orleans would have evacuated the school buses with the poor aboard them when they left many folks would have been saved as well as the buses which were photographed locked up in a flooded parking area.

Then of course there was good ole Al Sharpton, Je$$e Jackson, Spike Lee and others out there playing the race card. President Bush did not act because the people were black. It doesn’t matter that the hardest hit areas were white middle class neighborhoods. It doesn’t matter that the President was on TV two days before the storm asking folks to evacuate. Perhaps if they paid attention to current events instead of hanging out on Bourbon Street they would have known a storm was coming.

Actually that was what alerted me that this was going to be bad. I don’t think I had ever seen a President urge people to evacuate an area before. Of course all that is forgotten in the demonization of Bush as a racist. I guess his remote control that can cause planes to fly into the World Trade Center can also steer hurricanes into black areas.

As I continue to see folks caught and prosecuted for fraud and abuse of the funds given to them, and as I see the reports of people selling FEMA trailers and housing given to them, I will think twice about when and where to donate my charitable contributions.

I just wonder how the Philippines, who have been hit with many more powerful storms than Katrina this year alone still manages to quickly recover and does not require billions to make that happen. Yeah, Laila lost phone service for a couple of days and her cell phone was intermittent as well as her internet, but they recovered and now are going to have to weather a stronger repeat of the last big storm. The people of New Orleans are still standing with their hand out.

It reminds me of that commercial “Who would you give a Volvo to?” I for one wouldn’t give it to the folks of New Orleans as they would just sell it and spend the money on a good time on Bourbon Street.

As I end this post I ask that everyone keep Laila and her kids and all Filipino’s in their prayers. Her building is well constructed and can withstand the storm but then you never know what will happen with these super typhoons.

News Review

November 18th, 2006 -- Posted in News, Politics, TV and Radio | No Comments »

Since it is Saturday and I really am taking it easy I was browsing through the news and figured I would make a few comments here and there about things I have seen in the press.

In the who cares department is the Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes wedding. I really could care less about Hollywood celebs and their lives, and wish it would not be taking up all the time in the press.

From what are these people thinking department is all the stuff that went on over Sony releasing the Play station 3 this week and all the stories I saw like this, this, this, this, and this. These people need to get a life.

From the this gets my blood boiling department was the announcement of the new OJ Simpson book and special. I will not buy anything from any company that sponsors this murderer’s special and I will not watch it. I hope now that Bill O’Reilly is all upset about it he will publish the sponsors of the OJ special since I haven’t been able to locate anything on the web about them.

Other than that of course there are the usual illegal immigration stuff and the fact that the President of the United States appointed Mel Martinez, a backer of amnesty for all to the job of Republican National Committee Chairman. The party still does not get it and they will continue to not listen to their conservative base. Please, somebody start a third party that will get these professional politicians out of Washington.

Well those are my takes on the news. I will now go get my weekend chores done. We have company coming over to watch the Ultimate Fighting thingy with my son tonight, so I want to make sure I have everything ready.

Proposition 83

November 9th, 2006 -- Posted in People, Politics | No Comments »

California voters passed Proposition 83 by a whopping 70%. It was known as Jessica’s law, named after Jessica Lunsford, a 9-year-old Florida girl who was kidnapped, raped and suffocated by a convicted sex offender last year. Well a federal judge has already blocked it.

It again just goes to show that here in California the people have no say as every time they try and approve anything that makes sense some judge will block it.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston, a Clinton appointee, figures, from San Francisco, figures, has no biography on the net. I heard she was a Clinton appointee while listening to Rick Roberts on my way to work this morning.

As long as we have people like this serving in our courts we will continue to get the will of the people blocked. I had a difficult time but managed to educate myself as to the background of all the judges trying to get approved for the California Supreme Court and voted against many of them. I guess most people just ticked yes though since all of them were elected.

Such is politics in this state and this country. And once again to the Republicans who lost, it’s about illegal immigration.
