Laila’s Internet is still all messed up so she was on dial up again this morning until her prepaid phone card ran out. We got logged off early so I went ahead a left a little early so I could get everything unlocked and turned on for both classes who will be in lab today. I was going to stop and get something for breakfast but went ahead and just bought a couple of donuts on the quarterdeck on my way in the building.
Listening to the radio and watching Fox News last night all of a sudden it seems the politicians have got the message. They are all starting to talk tough about illegal immigration. I am tired of the talk and want to see action taken.
I like what Rick Roberts is doing here in San Diego. He is publicly broadcasting things said and actions taken by the local office holders. People have had it with the political correctness, and the pandering for votes. If these politicians want to hold their office it is time for them to do what they were elected to do. Since 70 to 80 percent of the people do not want illegal immigrants then the sanctuary city crap has to be scrapped.
The example of Tulsa, Oklahoma was used this morning on the show. They cracked back on the illegal immigrants and the ones that were not arrested left on their own. Isn’t that a neat concept? Enforce the laws and they will go on their own.
Right now the country is all riled up about what happened in Newark, New Jersey and the fact that an illegal alien child rapist was allowed to go free and stay in this country, and then took part in the execution of three college students.
I was watching Geraldo Rivera debating Tom Tancredo last night on Fox and Geraldo is playing the race card. News for you Geraldo, illegal immigrants are not all Mexican, and if there are no illegal immigrants in this country they can’t commit crimes against the citizens of this country.
One caller had it right this morning. How do you get rid of illegal immigrants? One illegal immigrant at a time!

Laila’s internet appears to be down hard and I had to talk to her on dial up this morning. We were able to chat on Skype but only for a few minutes at a time as her bandwidth or lack of bandwidth kept causing our connection to drop. It is also causing her to have a miserable time trying to play UC as it takes a lot of bandwidth to load the game pages. She contacted Bayantel and hopefully they will get it fixed in a timely manner.
This morning my class rolled into the antenna practice troubleshooting. We were moving right along when all of a sudden our building and another building lost 400 Hz power. Since the antenna system uses 400 Hz as a reference we had to take a break for a while as we waited for them to get it turned back on.
Last night we watched the season finale of “America’s Got Talent” and the two household favorites finished 1 and 2. The guy with the singing puppets really deserved to win and we loved it when he was the winner, but I also thought the guy that did a lot of reggae music and blues was also very good and deserved to win too. This year the talent was much better than last year.
Next month is going to be great because all the season premiers for my favorite shows are going to be coming on. I love seeing the promo’s for “House”, “Deal or No Deal”, “Dexter” and others coming on.
I guess they are going to have a few more of those stupid reality shows coming on for the new season. They were talking about one upcoming reality show which will feature 40 youngsters that were taken to an abandoned town in New Mexico (so CBS could get around child labor laws) and would run this town without adult supervision. I guess some of the kids had to be treated medically after the taping for malnutrition, burns and stuff. Also this was filmed during the school year and the set did not have any tutors or educators. It looks like it is a very bad move for CBS and they are being sued by some of the parents.
They were talking on the radio that before long the feeding of Christians to the lions will be back at the major stadiums. It may sound a little far fetched, but look at how society is going down the drain. If the radical Muslims succeed in taking over the world that could become a reality. Well that is about it for today.
I’ve got to get back to watching the class now that the power has been restored.

Last night was one of those nights where we had a heck of a time getting reset. Every time we sent someone out they got stuck out there and it really had us backlogged. To make matters worse, I was in one of those conditions where I kept falling asleep at the keyboard, waking up when I heard the little bell go off for a hit.
I was waiting for Laila to go out when I think she heard me yawning or snoring and told me to get to bed. I was going to try and stay up but it was already 11 PM and I knew I had to get up early. It also looked like it would be a while before she got a chance to go out, so I went ahead and went to bed after making sure my static was posted.
Earlier in the evening I had made one of those frozen lasagna dinners and I always modify them by adding extra cheese and stuff. It was also something that didn’t take a whole lot of effort to cook. When it was done I got mine and had a little difficulty eating some of it because my front teeth had to be used and so I aggravated the injury a little. It wasn’t too bad until I tried to go to sleep upstairs and then it kept waking me up. So after a restless night sleep I went ahead and got up and got ready for work.
Laila also has been having a dental problem with one of her molars and so she was in a little pain this morning also. Because it was hurting her to talk we bypassed the morning routine and I went ahead and drank some extra coffee and made some game moves. It was then time to head out for work and so I jumped into the car and off I went. As soon as I started the car the idiot light came on telling me I was low on gas. I kind of knew that when I left work yesterday, but I thought I had enough to get home and back to work so I just went home yesterday rather than wait in line at the gas station.
I had enough to get to work so I was cool to go and I think if I were to fill it up over the lunch hour the line will be shorter. I was a little worried about running out of gas on the way to work though. It was a good feeling to pull into the parking place this morning.
While on the way in this morning Rick Roberts and his listener’s were talking about something I heard on the news last night. A man was driving while drunk with his 9 year old son in his car when his vehicle left the road and hit a parked truck. The man ran off and left the boy behind and the boy died at the scene. The man was apprehended by police and stated the reason he ran off was because he was here illegally and afraid he was going to be deported. Also his wife has been all over the news saying that if he were to have legal papers this wouldn’t have happened. What? If he were here he wouldn’t be driving while drunk? If he were here legally he would not have had the accident? If he were here legally he wouldn’t have ran off to let his son die?
What if the truck had been occupied? How many would he have killed then? This one is another one that is over the top in my book. Pundits have been all over the news saying that if he were here legally he wouldn’t have run off and maybe the boy would have lived. Perhaps if he were not here illegally he wouldn’t be drunk driving on our roads putting his son and other people at risk.
Also on another note last night watching the O’Reilly Factor he reported that Jet Blue is a sponsor of the Daily Kos, a very left leaning website. Jet Blue has seen the last of my business as a result. Their CEO was interviewed and seemed to not have a clue. Why would they sponsor a site that has insulted the Pope, was happy about Tony Snow’s cancer coming back, and hoped that an assassination attempt on the vice president would be successful? Maybe they didn’t read the crap that is posted there or something but if they are going to sponsor a site like that, they obviously do not want my business.
Well that is what is on my mind today. Got to get to work.

The past two nights San Diego made segments on the O’Reilly Factor. I love seeing San Diego mentioned in the news for things like rare animals born at the zoo, or something good for our sports teams as that is good for tourism and paints San Diego as a great place.
Unfortunately, being mentioned on the Factor usually means the opposite and that is what the two stories painted, that San Diego has problems.
Tuesday a story featuring the goings on at Carver Elementary School was mentioned. I didn’t watch the segment as I was watching the All Star game, but heard al about it on the Roger Hedgecock radio show on my way home. It seems the fine folks at Carver Elementary School are allowing a prayer break for Muslim students in the afternoons and these prayer breaks are supervised I guess by a Muslim teacher. I could just imagine the outrage if there was a prayer break for Christians.
I am wondering why all elements of society are pandering to these folks. Almost every day on the news I hear about another concession, be it cab drivers at airports refusing to pick up fares, special prayer rooms at airports, and foot cleansing stations. When you come to America you are supposed to become an American, not change Americans to your religion or lifestyle. This morning I heard Rick Roberts talk about internment, which is a bit drastic, but we do need to do something. As with the illegal alien population we are also being taken over by radical Muslims too! We need to wake up.
Last night they had a story on the San Diego Padres, but it was not very complimentary. The Padres sponsored both a ball cap giveaway for children and a gay pride night for the same ball game. I guess anything for a buck is good enough for the Padres. I am heterosexual but I don’t have to go around flaunting it for everyone to see. I keep it too myself as that is a private matter. I don’t know why gay people have to run around flaunting their gayness. Oh well, I haven’t gone to a game since the strike cancelled the World Series several years back and I will not go in the future. I will watch the All Star game and the World Series on TV, but that is about it.
Well that is the news of today. I think I will go get something for lunch. Last night I tried some chicken nuggets and was able to eat them as long as I was careful. I will go try and find something soft and easy to chew over at the q-mart.

Sorry about not blogging over the weekend. I really didn’t feel like doing much of anything over the weekend. Yeah I logged onto the game, but pretty much posted op and did the five minute thing with my infra but didn’t chat a whole lot or anything like that.
I did work on making up a spreadsheet to try and learn more about the ships and all, but lack of concentration made that hard. Also not being able to eat anything solid kind of ruined the weekend for me too.
Yesterday, due to the nice black and blue chin we skipped church. Instead Laila and I prayed the rosary together. I did take the kids out and got them brunch at a Chinese takeout. I bought noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and broccoli beef for me, but two of my front teeth hurt so bad that I couldn’t eat the chicken or the broccoli beef, so I gave that to Carlos.
I have an appointment to get my teeth cleaned tomorrow, but that is not going to happen, instead I will call the dentist and see about canceling that one and getting the two loose teeth looked at.
I was going to try and do something over the weekend but I kept getting the after hours leave a message numbers and figured I would tough it out over the weekend. I hope that wasn’t a mistake, I guess I will have to wait and see on that.
This morning when I got up, I really didn’t feel too good. I didn’t have anything soft to eat so I just had coffee and came to work. I am here early now and got everything unlocked and set up for today’s lesson already, and now I am just waiting to get started.
This morning on the radio everyone was talking about the “Save the Earth” concert. I didn’t watch it myself but the hypocrisy of these folks amazes me. How did they get to the concert? Most of them by private jet most likely. How did they get there from the airport? By one of those huge gas-guzzling limousines is how.
I am so tired of the “Do as I say, not as I do” people who are trying to look after me and my future. I think Al Gore should probably be trying to straighten out his son who is currently out on bail here in San Diego for drug charges, than continuing to put out his planet is in trouble crap. How many and how large are his houses and cars?
So that is it for today I guess. Time to get in there and start teaching. Have a great week.

Well today is going to be one of those busy days since I will have the class do the practice troubleshooting and then after they are done for the day we have to work on a broken transceiver.
Yesterday after we dismissed the classes and all the military went for their training which they were told was going to last the majority of the day, they came back in about an hour. Since we still had the morning and the entire afternoon left we decided to go ahead and swap a transceiver out with one that we got from the depot. The one we currently had installed has been giving us problems but they have been intermittent, so we figured we would go ahead and swap that one out. After we got the other one installed we found that it didn’t work, but then it has a definite problem so we can actually troubleshoot that one.
We worked on it until knock of and fixed several problems with it. We will finish working on it this afternoon hopefully.
Well that was fun, my class went through the practice problems for the day really quick and then we went ahead and repaired the transceiver. Everything is passing except we need to do the data alignments on it and can’t do that until after it warms up for a while.
So now it is lunch time, and I have a break now for a little while to sit down and rest up.
This morning on the way to work the radio shows were all talking about the amnesty bill that the Senate was supposed to vote on this morning. They were also talking about how John Podesta a former Clinton aid is trying to silence conservative talk radio.
I heard yesterday the congress has an approval rating of 17%. Only 23% or the people are in favor of the amnesty bill yet 65 Senators voted for cloture and I won’t know how today’s vote went until I get home. But you would think that the Senators would see the plummeting approval rating and take it as a sign that the people are not happy. I don’t know why they keep ignoring the people they were elected to represent, but I think the next election could get really interesting.
As far as the radio thing goes, I know most of the shows I listen to love having liberals on because it makes for great debate. Sean Hannity actually said he would allow Hillary Clinton to co-host his radio show for a week. That would be exciting but she would never do it. She would have to answer the hard questions, not the easy stuff tossed to her by CNN or NBC.
All these people that are calling for an end to conservative talk radio like John Kerry and Hillary Clinton will very seldom go on any of the conservative shows even though they have been invited on the air by almost all the hosts. They claim they are not being represented but that is just because they refuse to go on the air.
I have seen the conservative candidates go on MSNBC and CNN but you seldom see the liberals on Fox. In fact they refused to attend a debate sponsored by Fox, so who is being snubbed? Seems to me the only reason they aren’t heard on conservative radio is because they refuse to go on the shows.
There are some liberal shows out there, the biggest being “Air America”. It went into bankruptcy due to lack of listeners and also a whole lot of other legal problems. It is not the conservative’s problem if the liberals refuse to support their own radio programming. I just think it is a shame that since they have not been able to get a viable talk radio show going that they would mess with the free speech rights of others. If they are going to pass this fairness doctrine then I would love to see it exercised against all media. That would include radio, television, magazines, newspapers and the entertainment industry. If you want to make it fair go the whole way, not selectively pick and choose.
Well I guess that is my rant for the day. Hopefully the rest of the day will pass by quickly and I can get a little rest. I am dragging a little bit today.

Some things get on my nerves, and the main one that gets to me lately and others has been watching folks get into arguments on the IRC chat or posting foolish things on the fed board.
If you have a problem address it privately. Do not air your dirty laundry in public for all to see. I do not argue in the chat, I just mention my displeasure and log out.
The stuff that happened yesterday exploded in the chat last night and I logged off the chat to await a chance to talk to another fed officer.
Anyway I guess some feelings are hurt and for that I am sorry. Irresponsible behavior be it in the home, on the job , or in a game where you are a team member can not be tolerated, no matter who you are. Some people think that longevity gives then special privileges and nothing could be further from the truth.
Anyway last night Laila and I watched movies until about three in the morning, and then I went to bed. I got up at 7 this morning so she could reset, talked to our leader about the issue at hand and then since Laila was not feeling well she went to bed and I went grocery shopping with Judy and David.
When I came back I tried to take a nap, but after many visitors and all that didn’t work. So now I just gave up and will try and go to bed early tonight.
Well Laila is up so I will go ahead and post this and get on the game.

Well I only have a week to go before I start heading for Laila’s house for some rest, relaxation, and company. It will be great and while I am there we are going to make an effort to meet some of our gaming buddies.
Last night was great as we got to swing back into our old routine. Laila’s Internet connection was quick enough so we are back to watching TV online again. We watched “The O’Reilly Factor” since he had Michelle Malkin on, then a recorded episode of “Dexter” and a recorded episode of “Deal or No Deal”. We then caught a couple of minutes of “Judge Judy” before watching “Deal or No Deal”, “Heroes” and then “Law and Order, Criminal Intent”.
I can just imagine how Laila’s screen must have been pretty crowded, but she seemed to be getting enjoyment out of it, even though the Heroes episode last night had a couple bloody scenes.
Anyway we had a pretty good night as a federation. The only big losses came to an unattended fed and they came on the last hit. We did our best to protect it, but once the fleet left behind gets damaged there is no way to protect it effectively.
This morning on the way in I heard that George Lopez had his show cancelled and is now saying it is because of racism. Sorry George, if your show was good and people watched it, it would not get cancelled. Ratings are money, and your show was dieing.
Hollywood people just don’t seem to get it. Actors and actresses that go out and are always speaking to the crowds about their agenda tend to turn people off. I used to love the movies that Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon starred in. Now they have joined the list of people I can’t stand to watch. I do not watch anything they, Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Baghdad Sean or any other left wing activist puts out because I see them spouting off their hate America crap in the press and I see that when I see them in a movie.
These folks are not getting the viewer ship they once had. Their movies are tanking, as are their shows. Maybe someday they will figure out that there are a majority of clean quiet folks that do not share their liberal way of life. People are a lot smarter than these brilliant Hollywood actors give them credit for. The regular people are the ones that have to go out and work for a living, get educated for a better job, or sometimes work too jobs to make ends meet.
They do not have time for the Hollywood elite that have millions and millions of dollars because of a pretty face and the ability to get something right on camera once out of say every 10 takes. They don’t by this global warming, you must conserve by people that take private jets everywhere, live in 20 bedroom mansions and ride in limousines. Yes they want us to conserve so they can buy with their millions.
Anyway George, so your show got cancelled. Maybe it wasn’t funny or maybe it got old. I never watched it, because every time I see you I am reminded of the plight of the Illegal Alien and how they are so mistreated. I don’t see you doing anything with you millions to help the healthcare system they are destroying or the folks whose Identities have been stolen.
Get yourself out in the press some more. Keep supporting the stuff the regular people detest. Maybe you will disappear all together just like Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon have seemed to disappear off the big screen.
Well time to get to work. Have a great day.
April 14th, 2007 -- Posted in Health Issues, TV and Radio |
I made it through Friday the 13th unscathed and got a great night of sleep last night. I got up somewhat early this morning and supported some team mates and then I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. I gave the dentist a hard time about all the people he had there and how business must be going great.
My dentist’s office is quite a distance from the house and when I tuned on the radio the talk stations had a bunch of rerun shows and the music stations had those folks they try to be funny in the mornings so I popped in a cassette tape instead.
I listened to a Black Sabbath tape, and it was great to listen to some music for a change. I have been a Black Sabbath fan since high school and even though the tape I listened to was post Ozzy Osbourne I loved that great beat that all Sabbath songs have.
I love the way the bass and drums sound together and when the lead guitarist goes on a tear it is some great heavy metal.
I am not really much of a fan of music these days. I can’t stand hip hop or rap, and the heavy metal bands these days are loud but not good.
Anyway it was great and when I got home I did laundry and laid down on the couch and watched some TV once I checked the game and saw nothing was going on.
Now I am chatting with Laila until she goes to church, and then I will lay down a little while longer.
Have a great weekend all.
April 9th, 2007 -- Posted in Politics, TV and Radio, Unification Wars |
Well it is a Monday morning and actually I am in quite a happy mood going back to work. Even though I stayed up a little bit late last night I full of energy and ready to go this morning. I am even in a great mood despite hearing stuff on the radio that stuck a nerve and also the fact that this afternoon I will be doing up my taxes and seeing how much my share is.
Laila and I managed to get all the little happenings in Unification Wars settled down. Sometimes it just takes venting with someone and that is just what we did. We both talked to our fed leader and between the three of us we came up with some ideas to make things run a little better. I wasn’t really as upset as she was and she is back to her old happy self now and everything seems to be fine.
I just don’t want our fed to fracture like others have, it is so better to talk things out honestly and get them resolved before they become a problem. Our leader is an excellent listener and we can freely talk to him. It makes things easy, and he has the ability to calm us down and get a smile back on our faces. Anyway, I am glad things are back to normal.
One thing strange happened last night and it has me wondering. One of our allies recently had a couple of people leave his federation to join one that has been attacking us relentlessly. We expressed our concern and agreed to be personal allies with them. Last night one hit my main. She then gave me this “oops I didn’t know it was you”. We have known each other for a while, so I don’t understand how I could have been confused for someone else by her. I will keep a close eye on the both of them now, and if this happens again they can forget being allies.
Anyway this morning the issue of illegal aliens was discussed again on the radio. It is starting to gain more and more attention and again this weekend the illegal were out demanding rights and drivers licenses. They are killing their own cause as they continue to do this and as conservative talk radio and Fox News continue to show them in action. The Bill O’Reilly/Geraldo Rivera meltdown last week has managed to make it to the mainstream media and with more people watching the factor out of curiosity, more people are hearing the story of the two girls killed by an illegal alien drunk driver in Virginia Beach, Va. This guy had been caught three times prior for drunk driving offenses. If that were any regular citizen they would not be driving, they would be in jail. But illegal aliens have more rights than citizens do in sanctuary cities and they can also scream racism at the drop of a hat.
I can’t scream racism when they refer to me as a gringo, but they can scream racism if I say illegal alien. Anyway, as these bills continue to get adjusted finally some of the stuff needed is getting into them, like people currently here illegally go to the end of the line for visas, can not get citizenship for relatives, and forfeit social security.
As I look back growing up in the 50’s and 60’s and then I look at where the country is now I get alarmed. You would not see people parading around the streets of our big cities carrying another nation’s flag, back in those days. You would not see people demanding rights as citizens, when they are not entitled to those rights. You would not see illegal immigrant drunk drivers turned lose to drink and drive again.
More Americans are being killed in the United States by illegal aliens than we have lost in the war in Iraq. I think the country is just starting to wake up to that as things get exposed in the main stream press.
Actually, I don’t know why we need new laws, we just need to enforce the old ones. Oh, well enough on that subject.
Today, when I get off I will be doing up my taxes. That is where I will find out how much I am paying the government so they can in turn pay it to someone less fortunate than me. You know the people that dropped out of school, won’t get a job, and sit home and watch soap operas and game shows all day on their big screen TV’s. That is if they are not out protesting against the Bush administration and the war.
I heard the whole thing put very well on the radio this morning. The guy with the job pays taxes that go to the schools and those less fortunate. The schools dummy these people down and get them onto the government welfare roles and their representatives continue to give them stuff for their votes. They know nothing of the world around them, they just want that monthly check so they will blindly vote to keep these guys in office. The guys in office will then work to get more people on the welfare roles by any means so their constituency grows. That is why you see all the stalling on illegal immigration. They are trying to find a way for the illegal’s to vote as that is a 20 million strong voting block.
Now the only problem is how many people watch the evening news? I think it comes on opposite “The Simpson’s” so maybe there are not so many watching it. People need to get informed about what is going on and vote for people who will do something. Everyone knows who the “American Idol” competitors are. Everyone knows who the Ladies are on “Deal or no Deal”, but they do not know the Justices of the Supreme Court or who President’s Cabinet members are.
We laugh at shows like “Are you smarter than a fifth grader, or Jaywalking, where people are caught on tape, not knowing the answers to common knowledge type questions. The thing is that we should be crying instead of laughing. These people are voters just like you and me. Wonder how some of these folks in the House and Senate get elected and reelected. It is because they are able to convince these brilliant people to vote for them.
Millions of people here in California voted for Phil Angelides in the last election. He promised to end he war, though he has no power to do so. But he was able to sway the great masses of the uneducated to vote for him.
There is only one way this stuff can be prevented and that is for people to exercise their right to vote. I know it takes time to go vote because of the traffic, the lines at the polls, and maybe you will miss that special TV program you like to watch when you go in the door.
Just remember though, Joe Welfare has no job and can hang out at the polls all day to get his vote in. It is the most important day of the year for him. He and the many like him are going to vote to get themselves a pay raise and more benefits. He and others like him are many, so the working people must take the time and offset these votes.
The time is right for the silent majority to silently do again what they do when angered, and that is to come out and vote some of these clowns that cater to Joe Welfare out of office. If we keep letting these imbeciles get reelected each turn we will continue to spin down the drain as a country.
Well I guess that is enough on that one too. Besides I have to wrap this up. I will be starting class soon so I had better get ready to get them started. I have already gotten everything lit off and ready so I will go get some water to drink and then turn them loose on the gear.
Have and awesome week, everyone.
