Well, as I said in the last post we made it to San Diego, even though I was not in one piece. I went to the doctor and had an MRI done. I have a pinched nerve which is really painful and causes me to lose feeling in my right leg.
I have to go to a specialist this week and hopefully they will be able to do something with it. Needless to say I haven’t been doing much of anything but sitting around feeling sorry for myself.
I am saddened by the news of that Tsunami that wiped out all the coastal cities in the Indian Ocean. I saw the pictures from Phuket Thailand, a place I have been many times and really feel bad for their people.
I remember Operation Sea Angel back in 1992 (I think) where a tsunami hit Bangladesh, when we assisted in the cleanup efforts. These waves can be very devastating and I will keep these people in my prayers.
Well time to take some pills and go back to sleep.

Well, my daughter and I made it back to San Diego yesterday, safe and sound.
I then had to go to the hospital and get my back checked out. Seems I have a pinched nerve that is causing me to lose feeling in my right leg, along with a lot of pain.
They did an MRI on me and hopefully will know the cause of the pinched nerve tomorrow. In the meantime the have me taking all kinds of medicine. I am taking Vicotin for pain which makes me pretty sleepy, even though that is all I did from the time my leg gave out in Abilene until we got home. They gave me a shot of something that really relieved the pain for a while. I wish I had another one right now.
Anyway, now that I am back on medication and in pain, when I am awake I will not be mobile, so I will be able to sit in front of the computer, though the Vicotin causes me to doze off from time to time.
Anyway, at least we are home safe even though I will be out of commission for a few days.

Well, Judy and I didn’t make it home yet. We are in Tucson, Arizona.
Yesterday, I had to drive through Memphis, Little Rock and Dallas/Fort Worth. All three cities have massive road work going on and the traffic was stop and go for long periods of time. Also there were a few wrecks and all.
Well to make a long story short we had to stop in Abilene, Texas for the night last night as I lost feeling in my right leg.
I didn’t blog last night as I was in too much pain. I guess it is my back’s way of letting me know I bit off more than I can chew.
Anyway, this morning I got up and started driving. I made it about 15 minutes down the road and went numb gain in the leg and the pain in my back was more than I could bear so the daughter drove the rest of the day. I am now trying to get the back to calm down by using huge amounts of Ben Gay and all. The wife who has experience with these sorts of back problems is sure I have a swollen disk. The bad news, it may take up to two weeks for it to get back to somewhat near normal.
So anyway, I now know what I will be doing for Christmas Vacation, absolutely nothing as I can’t move.

Well after a wrong turn coming out of Maryland and then hitting all the beltway traffic out of Washington, my daughter and I finally stopped tonight on the west side of Nashville in a town called Dickson.
It would have been great to have managed to get to Jackson, which was the point I made it to during my travels East but I was getting tired and seeing spots.
So now it is off to bed for the night. See you all tomorrow.

Well, I made to Maryland.
My daughter and I will head back for California tomorrow.
Wasn’t a bad trip so far other than road construction, especially in Nashville, and the the fact that I took a wrong turn and got lost in the final 30 miles of my Journey.
Other than that I am looking forward to getting out of this cold weather. Until tomorrow.

Well, I was going to post a massive post about all the experiences, but the connection I have and the fact that I am using a laptop is preventing that. I have made it as far as Jackson, Tennessee. I will probably hit a little weather tomorrow.
I stayed in Van Horn, Texas last night but couldn’t get an access number to connect to the net.
I hope to get to Maryland tomorrow to meet my daughter.

Okay, tomorrow is the big day.
I will leave for Maryland to pick up my daughter in the morning. I have a laptop all loaded up with AOL so I will be able to blog about my progress. If everything works out fine, I should be blogging from New Mexico or Texas tomorrow night.
I will keep you informed.

I have been really unlucky lately.
A couple of weeks ago I slipped on a wet floor, fell and hurt my back. I didn’t think anything of it, then I slipped again over the weekend and hurt it the same way, though I didn’t fall.
This week, I had a miserable cold and actually took time off work to keep from passing it around. Today I felt a little better so I decided to do a little house cleaning. I swept and while sweeping stuff up with the foxtail and dust pan must have twisted it again because I am hurting all over again.
I guess this time I should maybe wander over to the Doctor and get it looked at.
I have been catching up with school work and trying to get those pre-final papers submitted. Then over the weekend I have to take a few tests and all. I want to finish everything this weekend so i can get out of here Monday to head for Maryland to get the daughter.
Well I guess that’s it for now.

Sorry for my lack of blogging. I have been enduring a minor family emergency for the last week or so and have pretty much been sidetracked from everything I normally do.
As those of you who read my blog know, my daughter got married in August. She married a guy she has been going with for quite a while. We took him into our home when he needed a place to stay, the wife got him a job, and we treated him like family.
He and Judy eventually decided to get married and he joined the Navy. He recently got stationed in Maryland. He went first to get housing and everything set up for her. Well my daughter a friend 2 cats and a puppy left San Diego Thanksgiving evening after we finished our feast.
Mrs. RWO was really nervous and all since they have never driven that far and so she basically didn’t sleep a wink while they were traveling, only when they stopped someplace for the night would she close her eyes and get some rest. She also talked to them on their cell phone once every 2 hours.
They finally got to Maryland last Sunday. Well once they got there ma, finally laid down to get some rest and felt a lot better. Then we got the phone call. The daughter got in a car accident and totaled her car. Luckily no one was hurt and the wife and I started discussing what we could do to support helping her get another car.
Well then came Monday’s call. Her darling husband was dumping her. Better than that he had not had her household goods delivered so she was sleeping on the floor of her new place on some blankets she had salvaged from the wrecked car. He and his buddies had drained them of any spare cash they had the night before when he took his buddies out for dinner and then informed her that he had no cash.
Well the Monday call was basically to say that she was still sleeping on the floor, she had no food and no money, and that he was out with his friends and would continue to live in the barracks. After that, we call a Domino’s Pizza in her area and paying for it with my credit card, we managed to get her settled down.
The next morning when I got up I located who his Command Master Chief was and gave the Master Chief a call. 30 minutes later he was standing tall in the Master Chief’s office with his Chief and Division Officer. They managed to get her a few things to hold her over until I can leave to go get her and her belongings.
Anyway, I am so steamed right now I can’t see straight. Why if he was going to pull this crap did he have her ship all her belongings and drive across country?
Well, I guess I will look very carefully into the next homeless youngster the kids bring home. Just shows that you can’t judge all people correctly I guess.

Tonight my prayers are with the folks in the Phillipines as they are getting hit with another super typhoon. I hope that my friends there will be unaffected and that it passes by fast.
Sorry about my lack of posts. Going through a few family problems, and I will blog about them after they are under control.
Also, finals are coming up and I have been overwhelmed with school work. I hope to be back to regular blogging soon.
