When plans go wrong

April 27th, 2007 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

I feel really bad today as last night Laila and a few other members of our federation all suffered big losses. I too got hit badly when I first came out but managed to recover and get some payback. Laila and the others didn’t.

There is a group of folks that sit about 150 power rating from where we normally come out. That allows them to attack us full force and they are doing it in pairs so the first person messes up your stacks and the second person cleans up.

There is also another played that suicides a lot, and that person is just doing it to be mean. I usually go out a little higher than my fed mates and when they try to pull that crap I will strike back with an immediate retaliation against both attackers, and after trying a few mains I hit their non-dark outer systems so it costs them. Also I have a good defense minister, a good system, and a good stack so they seldom get through it. I am not saying they can’t, but it is hard for them.

Anyway, while I used up my retals on the folks that double-teamed me I saved a bunch of retaliations against the folks that attacked my friends. There will be payback and unlike others I do have the ability and common sense to go high and hit from above. Perhaps if these people get knocked off their perch they will stop this lowlife form of play.

Anyway that is it for now. I have some work to get done.

Well today has tuned into just one of those days where nothing seems to go according to plans and though I was not affected because I was taking care of some equipment stuff like dressing up the antennas so they are all lines up and looking nice and some cosmetic stuff for the visit next week, everything seemed to go wrong for my navy counterparts.

They had everything planned out this morning but then a few things happened that threw the entire morning off track.

The one sailor who’s wife returned today had to get caught up on the labs he missed while one of the new instructors was going to take the rest of the class and have an instructor evaluation. Well the guys on the third floor were cleaning the decks for the visit, and I guess someone spilled a bucket of water or something and it started leaking into our lab. So that ended his doing his lab work due to an unsafe condition.

In the meantime someone delivered a flat screen monitor to be used with the computer and the power point projector in the classroom. Some of the guys were so excited that they started installing it but then got called away for another project. That disabled the classroom for the guy that was trying to get his evaluation done.

Also as part of a qualifying evaluation there is a requirement to video tape the lesson, but nobody could find the camera. When they did locate it they had to search all over for the charger, then they found out they didn’t have a tape for it.

In the meantime I jumped in and we got the classroom working again but now it was 10 AM for an evaluation that was supposed to start at 9 AM. He finally got started and then things went smoothly except we then got a call from the print shop saying they completed out schematic diagram printing and we had to go pick them up. We just didn’t have anyone to go get them.

They still have not finished taking care of the final discrepancies from senior chief’s pre-inspection so I think it is going to be a long day for them. I kind of feel sorry for them because I have had days like that when I was in. One of those days where everything was well planned and then something would happen to mess everything up, like a major piece of equipment deciding to break, or some ship evolution would come up and change all the plans.

I have a feeling everyone is going to feel good when they leave for the day today. And speaking of that, I think I will save this for when I drag my rear end out of here today and head for home.

I am looking forward to a nice quiet weekend and wish the same for everyone.

The focus changed

April 26th, 2007 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

Well they took it up a notch getting ready for the Captain’s visit next week, so we spent the morning getting everything nice and clean.

While the students and staff were doing that I was putting fasteners and guards and stuff back on the equipment. A lot of that kind of stuff is not needed in our lab so we leave the stuff off for easy access.

Anyway I spent the morning putting covers on and making sure all the securing bolts were on the gear and tightened up.

When I got to the antenna’s we require 144 hex bolts all together to attach the compartment covers completely. That works out to 12 bolts per cover, 3 covers for antenna, and 4 antennas. We usually just hold them in with either 2 or 3 bolts.

Anyway I broke out our miscellaneous hardware can and started bolting up the covers. I managed to get the first two antennas done, but then ran out of bolts on the third one.

I figured since they didn’t cost that much I would run to The Home Depot and get some, so I opened up the tech manual and wrote down all the information it had on the bolts. At lunch time I jumped into the car and off I went.

I got to The Home Depot ignoring the many illegal aliens looking for work, found the hardware department and finally found the hex bolts. Then to my horror the size listed in the technical manual was not even close. Also I didn’t do something I usually do when buying hardware, which is take an example.

So I jumped back in the car and ran back to the base and got one of the bolts from the antenna. ET1 asked if I could also get some cleaning rags and just go home after I picked up the stuff, that we would use all the stuff tomorrow which was fine by me.

Anyway, I got back to the Home Depot and finally got the right size and the towels. Then came the great checkout adventure. I usually go to the self checkout and since there was not a line it figured that it would be pretty fast. Well even though there was no line all the self checkout places were being used, by or course people that didn’t know how to use them. After watching that comedy routine I jumped over to a line with a real cashier.

I got behind some old guy that was trying to pay with a credit card but something was wrong with his card so she had to manually enter everything. She got him out of there and I actually made it out the door before he did.

Anyway, now I am at home and I am going to lay down a bit while waiting for Laila to come online. I am still feeling the effects from my cold.

The week is half over

April 25th, 2007 -- Posted in Health Issues, Unification Wars | No Comments »

I have been putting it off for about a week now, but I guess today on the way home I will have to hit the commissary. We have food but have run out of several little things so I have to go there to stock up and save a little money.

They just opened it on Friday and everyone has told me the place is huge and just now the crowds that were checking it out have gotten smaller so it should be a good day to go. It would be nice to get a few things anyway. We still have food but are running out of the nice stuff like snack foods and shampoo. Just little things like that.

Yesterday I went ahead and continued my online tech assist with one of my students who is on a ship on the east coast. I think we solved the problem, I just have to wait for an e-mail confirmation.

Then I lay down on the couch for a few minutes, but it turned into a couple of hours. I guess the Nyquil kicked in and really knocked me out. But I am feeling better by the day.

I really felt blah last night. I felt ok physically, but it was hard to get my head into anything seriously last night. I just couldn’t seem to concentrate on anything, perhaps the Nyquil again.

I managed to get myself reset in the game and took care of some other stuff. I was going to go to bed early, and I did kind of. I went to bed when the news at 11 went off, even though I should have gone to bed earlier. I still got a lot of sleep though.

This morning is physical fitness day for the Navy folks so they will be in late, but I came in at the regular time to get everything set up and ready to go. I still have about half and hour before they will be here so I will be working on some power point stuff until they get here.

So with that I guess I will close this post and get to work.

Well it is lunchtime so I figured I would add a little to the entry. One of our student’s wives had a baby last night so he was gone from class today. It kind of kept us from getting too much done, because we don’t want to have him get too far behind the rest of the class. Also one of the female students recently got married and is trying to get all her paperwork straightened out, so today was a good time to excuse her so she could get that all taken care of.

So tomorrow they will be catching up and I think the rest of the class will be putting some of the finishing touches on getting ready for the Captain’s visit next week.

Now I guess I will go ahead and close this out for the day. Time to get a few last minute things done so I can get out of here on time.

On my way home I heard that Rosie O’Donnell is leaving “The View”. I now know what will be all over the news no. I don’t know if she got fired or quit. I don ‘t even watch the show, but seeing all the clips of the controversial things she has done, I say good riddance.

WSC-3 Transmit Fail

April 24th, 2007 -- Posted in Navy Stuffs, Work | No Comments »

Yesterday I got an e-mail from a former student regarding a transmit fail an an AN/WSC-3(V)-7 Transceiver. It is a common type problem so I figured I would highlight it in my blog for today.

His symptoms were no power out in either AM or FM modes. Bite 10 failed and Bites 11 and 12 had no carrier on light.

Since Bite 11 passed except for the carrier on light that eleiminated a keyline problem. Since Bite 12 passed except for the carrier on light that eliminated the A-21 card and the cabling to the antenna.

He also reported J-1 through J-4 on the transmit module were all good. The emiminated a 28 VDC problem, overvoltage protection, and VSWR problems.

This leaves just two things that could be wrong, loss of transmit enable or loss of RF power from the 1A1A6 module.

He checked for the transmit enable and it was present so that only leaves loss of RF power. It can be checked and if present at the output of the 1A1A6 then the transmitter module is bad. Make sure to extend the 1A1A6 and have the RF input going in as well as keying the transmitter.

He actually swapped the 1A1A6 and it did not fix the problem so the problem has to be the transmit module. Either it is not getting a dc level out of the loop control gate, or is losing it somewhere between the loop control gate and the ALC to the attenuator. Remember that DC voltage passed back to the attenuator which controls power out. If it is lost you will get no power out and all the symptoms noted.

Hope this helps.

Another Cold

April 23rd, 2007 -- Posted in Health Issues, Unification Wars | No Comments »

Well Monday morning is here again, and it is time to begin the workweek. I didn’t blog over the weekend as I just had too many windows and tabs open all weekend and didn’t find the time to get to it.

Also Saturday I felt a little tired, and fell asleep for a while, while playing on line. Sunday after getting up early to post outpost we went to church and stopped for food on the way home. I was really hungry when we went to church, and I was hungry while buying the food. When I got home though I took one or two bites and I was already full, so I saved it for later.

It wasn’t that the food was bad or anything, it was because I was coming down with a head cold. No sore throat or upset stomach this time. Just coughing, sneezing, and running nose. This morning I have that sinus headache that comes with it, and we will see what happens suppose. I may have to depart work a little early today.

I have been using Vicks vapor rub and some nose spray along with aspirin. I switched from milk to water and we’ll see how it goes. I hate colds and my nose is starting to get a little red and sore.

Since I didn’t blog from home I don’t have the links to the readings and gospel. We had a new priest, Father Dennis who is running the parish, even though he is assigned to one across town.

Yesterday’s message was about the third appearance of Jesus after his death where Jesus asked John Peter three times if he loved him. It was in response to the three times John Peter denied knowing Jesus on the day of the crucifixion. Also yesterday was baptism day and I guess they baptized a bunch of folks, it was hard to see from where we were sitting and they didn’t put it on the big screen as they usually do.

After church I gave the kids a choice and they wanted Chinese food, so off we went for Chinese takeout. It was great but as I said my appetite had gone away. I got on the game to find out what is happening. Joe appointed me a temporary LT in the fed and then we set about, getting some stuff done to run the fed. It included accepting a new member and talking about little things we could do to make things better.

We have had one member that had been getting a bit out of control lately, and we have another that is always whining about losses. At the same time I have been watching the outpost trends of other federations to see how we can improve ours. We also need to keep and eye on who people are attacking and the retaliations that will come later. Some of our members have lost a lot and it has been due to retaliations.

One member quit his last federation because he said the outpost was not good. He had now joined our federation and is complaining about the outpost. For one, many times his account came out unattended during some pretty busy times, or sometimes when he was out he dropped below outpost coverage.

If you lose big playing in different federations and it seems to be a trend, do not blame it on the federation, and instead take a look at your game play. How many were retaliations from above, were you above outpost, what were your stacking percentages, and how is your infrastructure?

I get so annoyed at people who whine and cry and do not want to accept responsibilities for their crappy play. Just the other day one played was losing and discovered that he had forgotten to put his war minister on his main. Little things like that can make a difference.

Also before you go out make sure you can afford your fleet. If you don’t have 3T at least and you have more that 10 hours before your damage protection expires spend your time earning money. This non-related 50% tax crap is killing some of your fed mates, while being just generally annoying to others. We all have vassals to support and federation emergencies to handle. While it looks cool that Laila, I, and a few others make a ton of credits, but it still took us hard work to get to that point. There are no shortcuts and everyone has the ability to be self-sufficient. You just have to take the time to level up and watch how you assign your planets.

Many folks just want to fight, fight, fight, and that is ok, if you can afford it.

Well I have to go over across the hall and start sitting in over there for a week or so. I am trying to get myself back up to speed on DAMA so I can start teaching that in the future. I have been doing the majority of the OTCIXS teaching lately, so it is time to expand my horizons.

Have a great week.

The weekend is here

April 20th, 2007 -- Posted in News, Work | No Comments »

Wow, Friday is finally here and with it a chance to get a little rest, once today is over anyway. I usually get off early on Fridays, but today we will be having a safety brief so it will be a late day.

Also since today is the grand opening of the new Commissary I think I will stop by there on the way home and see what good deals can be had. Also we are out of a few necessities like dog food and laundry soap. We still have milk, food, and all but I have to get the other stuff.

Yesterday we got some bad news. Our federation leader had his account suspended. They accused him of having more than one account, which is a huge no-no in the game. His brother and he share a PC and I am sure it is just a mix up that will be straightened out quickly. Laila and I along with our other fed members stand behind him 100% and we hope this is taken care of quickly.

Today on my way to work I was listening to the radio. I figured they would be continuing to comment on the Virginia Tech incident, but instead they were talking about Alec Baldwin. It seems that Mr. Baldwin suffered a severe inconvenience when he called to talk to his daughter. She was not home so he left a voice mail. The voice mail was full of expletives and threats. Now he has been banned from seeing her and of course now everyone who listens to the news knows what a horrible man this guy really is.

This guy had dreams of eventually trying for a run at the White House. Now he will be lucky if he ever gets an acting role again. He as well as some of these other Hollywood big shots just don’t seem to get it. In this day and age, you do something dumb, and if you are famous it will be all over the world on the Internet and cable news within minutes. Hope you enjoyed your career, which will be tanking from here on out.

Anyway, I have to give a test today, then the safety brief, and after that I will stop at the commissary. Have a great weekend.

Lots of rest but still tired

April 18th, 2007 -- Posted in Health Issues, Unification Wars | No Comments »

Well it is not the middle of the week and though I managed to go to bed earlier than normal last night, I am still a little tired this morning. Today the class will be a little late because they had physical fitness training. Since I broke everything yesterday before going home I will get a little breather to get my troubleshooting lecture reviewed.

It is basically a few examples to show them where to start and then basically the format that I want them to write the steps down. After that I will turn them loose in the lab and see how they do.

I guess the commissary is going to be closed tomorrow and I was planning on going one day this week, so I suppose I will grocery shop on the way home tonight. We don’t really need that much, just a few things and I want to get in and out in a hurry. So I will see how I feel at the end of the day. We still have plenty of stuff in the house, but we do need a few little items.

I am wondering how long all this Texas Tech stuff will be in the news. They are beating this one to death now. I wish the news agencies would just report things and move on, but the whole news report after this incident is about the incident and maybe 5 minutes dedicated to other news. We know what happened, we know who did it, and we know he was mentally unbalanced. I don’t need to hear every student on campus interviewed. I don’t have to see every law enforcement, coroner, and lawyer available to the news agencies give me their take.

But as usual this will be in the news until the next bad thing happens or until they get to make a fool out of the president or his administration.

Last night I was doing very well in Unification Wars. I went out early and put a few people into damage protection and then sat waiting for someone to put me in. All of a sudden I got suicided from above and I had 5 retaliations on him. I wanted to jump out really high above him and use them, but there was a swarm of hostiles up there and the players in my fed other than Laila would have had a problem keeping outpost up in terms or credits and turns. I don’t like exhausting other people’s resources and think they could better spend their stuff on themselves so they become self sufficient like Laila, me and a few other fed members.

I used my retaliations on him and got a few planets before knocking him into damage protection and then settled in to get into protection myself. On of our allies got attacked and so I put him in, and then I started getting attacked and was hoping to get in myself when I saw another ally that needed help. I got him in but I was getting slammed by a couple of groups who have decided to prevent us from moving up.

It was actually talked about in a chat room set up for one of the other federations. They forgot some of our members were there when they said that due to a planet race they would have to attack anything rising above 1.5 B power rating. So I guess over the next couple of weeks I will stay lower than 1B since I was attacked at 1.3B last night. I don’t mind hanging out low, it just means I get hit from below by a bunch of pests who see my large planet count.

As a federation though if we expect to move up people are going to have to do some work. Everyone needs to become self-sufficient and get their planet counts over a million planets. If they can’t do this they are only holding the entire fed down. We have to be able to make the jump as a group, not just one or two people at a time. Right now these guys above us can afford to sit up there and attack in groups, everyone we try and send up. I don’t mind staying out low, but I also want to go to the next level. Went I am asked to post stacks under 100M I get a little concerned as that player is holding us down. When I see unattended empires out unattended I grow concerned as these people are afforded all the opportunities in the word to reset.

I am a little worried about people who do not reset when live outpost posters are there and then complain when Laila is trying to protect 2 or 3 empires at once as a single op poster. I will not mention any names but last night before I went to bed there were many live posters and we had a heck of a time getting people to go out and reset. Everyone wanted to wait until later. They did and later Laila was the only poster. Though almost everyone is good about posting outpost, if they are not on line then it does not get refreshed. You will get Laila’s stacks but once the rest is depleted you are in trouble.

Look at it also from a different point of view. When we are out our fed mates know who has outpost, what stacks they are getting, and how many people are posting. Don’t you thing the opponents know the same thing about us?

For your own good refresh when everyone is there and can help you. I have stayed up later than my normal bedtime many times to help out. I feel bad when I see anyone take losses. We all can be a little smarter in what we do, me included.

Anyway, time to get to work. Have a good week.

Why?

April 17th, 2007 -- Posted in News, Work | No Comments »

Yesterday just before leaving from work we got the word of the killings at Virginia Tech. The information was sketchy so I figured I would find out more when I got home, and I was not wrong. As soon as I turned on Fox News I saw every angle possible of reporting.

Even this morning they were having a press conference where the college officials and security guards were patting themselves on the back for the great job they did. Great job? 32 innocent people are dead, 15 more are wounded, and the guy who did it shot himself. Great job, guys.

I am not an expert, nor was I there, but based on what I have heard and seen in the press, I am wondering if the Keystone Cops were running this campus. This guy comes on campus at 7:15AM and kills his ex girlfriend and a dorm attendant. The police descend on the building looking for a white guy with a black pickup truck. The school decides to hold classes.

About 10AM the guy goes into the Engineering building and starts killing anything that moves. Also about 10AM the school notifies everyone by e-mail to stay in their rooms. I know of no one that checks his or her e-mail 24/7.

I was listening one of the talk shows this morning and someone made an excellent point. If this had been a tornado hitting the area everyone would have known. Now the lawsuit prevention starts, as these guys try and cover their butts.

Yeah, looking back is easy, but someone should have had the common sense to use the school PA system to get the word out. Someone should have cancelled the school day until the caught the murderer after the first killings at 7:15.

Laila and I added the victims to our prayer list and I would hope that people learn some lessons from this one.

I am also wondering again about the immigration policy that would let this guy come here in the first place. He was here legally at least, because I could just see the country explode if this turned out to be another illegal alien thing.

Well I guess that is enough on that.

I am glad today will be a quiet day at work. They will be doing operational labs and reference checks on the couplers and antennas. There won’t be many questions and it should be very quiet so that is cool. The fun will be tomorrow when I break things and then watch them try to figure out what I did.

Well I am back after a slightly busy morning. Everyone is gone and I am answering the phone for lunch. Just as we were about to get started some guys from one of the ships came over to take some reference measurements. We have been helping them troubleshot over the phone for a couple of days. Anyway we decided the best way to help them was to go over to the ship and observe the problem ourselves. Since I am now a civilian and since ship is in overhaul at one of the shipyards two of the other guys went because of all the paperwork and stuff that would have to be filled out for me to get through the main gate of the shipyard. So I stayed behind with my class and we went on with our lab work.

Then one of my own antennas decided to quit working so I repaired that and answered questions all morning. We pretty much finished that in the morning session and then the class replaced the light bulbs I talked about yesterday. They then created a new job for themselves when someone accidentally knocked over a plastic storage box where we keep spare equipment light bulbs. It was one of those compartment type boxes, which kept all the various bulbs separated. So they got to pick them all up and sort them out. It was kind of funny in a way, and since nothing was broken and no one got hurt everyone got a good laugh.

So now I just have to wait for the boys to get back so we can see what was wrong on the ship and the day will pretty much be over. So I guess that is it for now. Have a great day everyone.

Strange day

April 16th, 2007 -- Posted in San Diego, Unification Wars | No Comments »

Well today was one of those strange mornings when nothing seemed to start out right. I got up on time, early in fact got all ready for work and all, and then came downstairs to log on and talk to Laila.

As soon as I had her on Skype she was telling me to post outpost for the game. I had not even logged onto the game yet and already I guess she had been busy. It took me a minute or two to get set up and when I did get the game loaded, I immediately posted outpost. I didn’t even see who all was out, I just listened to Laila and posted what she said.

Last night and this morning we have been trying to deal with those that suicide our outpost and then hit our mains. We haven’t had any huge losses mainly because we are fast at replacing ships and we are stacking them smarter, but it has been pretty hard to get some things done, like putting in allies and all. But then it is all part of the game so we will find ways to deal with it.

Yesterday when I went out some guy unsuccessfully hit mine from about 2 billion power rating above me and failed. He ran when I retaliated immediately and took 10,000 planets from him. One of his buddies tried it a little later after having my outpost suicided but he failed too! I will not blog about how we prevent it in case enemy eyes read my blog. After that people kind of left me alone. When they hit me they lose half their fleet and I lose a few ships. It just is not worth the credits to them I guess.

Yeah it hurts our OP posters but I always keep a few transports worth of stuff to send if I need to.

While watching the news this morning and checking the traffic reports I already knew it was going to be a bad traffic morning. A pedestrian was hit in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the airport that had traffic virtually stopped. That would mean more traffic on the other freeways, so I expected a slow trip to work.

Because of all that was going on in the game Laila and I missed our morning prayers and I left the house a couple of minutes early to make sure I would not be late. As I was headed to Interstate 805 I heard that they had found a woman’s body by the side of the road at Imperial which is about 3 exits north of where I get off. Sure enough it was backing up too, but it was still moving.

On the radio I heard that Michael Moore has another crocumentary coming out soon. I can’t believe that some gullible people will actually believe what this guy puts on film. Anyway he contacted some 9/11 firefighters and other relief workers who were having problems with lung cancer and stuff like that. He then convinced a few of them to travel with him to Cuba where they had made a few breakthroughs in the treatment of lung cancer.

This America hater has to go. He goes on and on about Halliburton, yet owns Halliburton stock. He goes on and on about people being exploited, but has been sued many times for falsely portraying what people say or historic events. Additionally he makes millions of his supporters who watch his mindless drivel. How people believe these over edited false portrayals is beyond me.

But after it airs of course his mindless worshipers will be calling for the dismantlement of our medical care plans, hospitals, and staff. They will flock by the millions to that island paradise called Cuba for the communist provided best medical care in the world. At least one can hope they would all go there, and stay.

Every film this guy has made has been exposed as fake. You can edit anything to get anyone say anything. He doesn’t even edit stuff well as in Bowling for Columbine Charlton Heston changes wardrobe several times during the same speech. This man is a big fat joke and idiots with a negative IQ will take it as fact. It’s in the movies, it is a documentary so it must be true! Yeah right my fellow public educated school mates, everything on film is true. Remember that attack from the planet Mars in War of the Worlds. Probably believe Men in Black too!

Well enough on that jerk, not worth the valuable space on my blog and I am sure Moore watch will have a lot about it, including the people who were stiffed, misquoted, and tricked.

I got to work on time and will start teaching antenna couplers today. This will be the last bit of classroom work and the rest of the week will be spent in lab. I also have a feeling on days I finish a little early that the students will be painting and cleaning for the VIP visit next month, as is Navy tradition.

I remember those days when some big person would come to the ship for a visit. We would be cleaning and painting for days and then they would spend an hour or two in the captain’s cabin and go. Depending on how important the guy was, determined how much cleaning was done. You should see what happens when the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of the Navy is about to visit a ship. Nothing gets done but cleaning, painting, and uniform inspections.

Well I guess that it is for today. I wonder what made all these folks try and cross the freeways. I guess I will find out when I catch the news tonight. Have a great week.

Well I am back. I finished the classroom work and sure enough the guys tried to put the class to work. I researched some connectors for something we want to upgrade, while the class got florescent light bulbs and tried to get paint.

They got about half the bulbs and have to take the burnt out ones back before they can get the rest. I guess they thought we might sell the rest at the swap meet or something. They are not able to get the paint, and it was recommended that they go to a ship and get paint if they needed some.

I find that one hard to believe. Everywhere I have been we have had paint. The navy lives on paint. But I guess now that the school budgets have been cut we will have to find a way.

Now I guess we will have to find something of interest to trade some bosun’s mates on a ship for paint. When we needed something from shore commands we always managed to get a hold of a five pound can of coffee to trade. I don’t know what we would interest them in.

We can’t just go to The Home Depot because all Navy paint has all these special environmental restrictions that must be met and the Navy has strict color codes for various purposes. The guys wanted to paint the cases of the equipment, which must be machinery gray. Oh well, I will let them figure it out as I am just a civilian contractor now.

Today we also had to do our yearly “Don’t divulge personal information” training. Since we deal with student records and addresses and all they want to make sure that we know what we can and can’t do with that information. They want to make sure that we know the implications of identity theft and all. I already knew a lot of it but it pays to review.
Well now I guess that is about it for now. Time for the lunch hour to end and while they are doing their get ready for the visit stuff I will work on doing some course stuff.

A nice Sunday morning

April 15th, 2007 -- Posted in Family, Religion | No Comments »

Last night I stayed up pretty late watching people go out and fight while supplying OP and waited until some of my artifacts came alive so I could get some planets to add to my system.

As soon as I did that I went ahead and logged off and then fell asleep on the couch. I woke up early this morning and then chatted with Laila and some other freinds.

Judy and Carlos came down and were all ready for church so I took a quick shower and said my good nights to Laila and my friends and off to church we went.

Today was the second Sunday of Easter. The first reading was Acts 5:12-16. The second reading was Revelations 1:9-11a, 12-13, 17-19 and the Gospel was John 20:19-31. Father Cholo gave the mass and said that Father Vano had resigned as pastor due to health reasons. He did not elaborate and I will pray for his health. They have not announced a new pastor yet. The link to revelations is broken by the way.

Anyway the service today was about Jesus return and how Thomas didn’t believe Jesus had visited. Anyway when we got to the part of the mass where you greet everyone I ran into one of my old shipmates, his wife and grand daughter. We talked for a while and it was great running into an old buddy. Also their grand daughter was the cutest thing, about a year old, and very well behaved.

After that I asked the kids where they wanted to go for breakfast and they picked Jack-in-the-Box so we got breakfast sandwiches and came home.

Now I am updating the blog, posting outpost, and I think I will lay down for a bit. I also have to decide what to make for dinner. Anyway, I guess that is about it for the day. Time to get this posted and get going with relaxation time.
