I finally got that done

June 30th, 2007 -- Posted in Shopping | No Comments »

Well it is Saturday and I have had a slow start to the day after staying up too late last night and sleeping in this morning.

I did finally get started on the laundry and I have to break out the checkbook and get some bills paid. I also have to make a store run because we are out of laundry soap again, but I finally got moving.

Last night I finally got the pictures I took on the last trip downloaded from the camera and on the desktop. I also posted them on Flickr where Laila has access to my account and can download them on her blog if she wants.

I will download and post two of them here and then I will have Laila go ahead and post the descriptions later since I want to make sure of the names and all. I am so bad with names.

honorbound2007

This one is Laila, Joel (Honorbound) and their families and of course me, that we took during one of our meetings.

vera2007

This one here is of Laila’s best friends from her old neighborhood, Vera and Sherwin.

So now that I have that done, I will go ahead and get back to the chores. You all have a great weekend.

Amnesty Bill

June 29th, 2007 -- Posted in News | No Comments »

I am so glad that Friday has finally rolled around and pretty soon the weekend will start. The class will be doing performance tests again and that will make things pretty quiet at work anyway.

Well I am back, we started and completed the performance tests already and now they are doing a test equipment inventory before they depart for the day. I guess the military instructors have some breakfast or luncheon thing happening in a while so I will be answering the phone the rest of the morning and just holding down the fort.

I have watched with interest as the Chris Benoit murder/suicide has been dominating the news. On all the Fox News programs the all had large segments and interviews with wrestlers and former wrestlers. I guess Vince McMahon was even on the Today Show trying to do some damage control.

I guess the Benoit page on Wikipedia was updates to announce the death of his wife 14 hours before the police discovered the bodies and the IP was tracked back to Stamford, Connecticut, the home of the World Wrestling Entertainment so I think they may have some stuff to worry about. I also saw where Benoit’s doctor, the one who prescribed the steroids found at his house was arrested. This thing is taking new turns every day.

I also saw where former members of the WWE do not come to the defense of the WWE in this and some blame the organization for what happened. They also say the McMahon does not care about anything but the image of the corporation and will do anything to cover up anything that would give his company bad press. I have a feeling this is going to drag on for a while and that it is going to bring down a bunch of folks McMahon included.

Then of course in the “who cares department” Paris Hilton was also a highlight in the news reports. They had clips of her interview with Larry King where she was asked if she ever used drugs, and after she said no they of course showed a few of the clips of her smoking marijuana and all. Does she have a pea for a brain? She knows the clips existed and in fact the one of her smoking pot was filmed just before she went to jail. I would really appreciate it is people would take her for what she is, and insignificant attention getter, and just stop paying attention. Note to news agencies, enough of Paris Hilton already.

And then the Chinese are at it again. Poisoned toothpaste has been showing up in the United States. Last month it showed up in Panama. Also there is a recall of hundreds or thousands of faulty tires that were manufactures in China. That along with the pet food poisoning has me wondering why the United States is still trading with the Chinese.

It is well known that they are building up militarily and that the money we spend on their cheap products is funding that buildup. It is also common knowledge that China wants to takeover the United States at some future date. Also some things have happened recently that have to make you wonder if that take over has already started happening.

The Chinese have switched some of their currency from the dollar to the Euro which has cause the dollar to drop against foreign currencies.

They have been caught spying as many sensitive government installations and research sites trying to expand on the knowledge of systems the Clinton Administration gave them. They shot down a Satellite and have started a space program which should be cause for concern. They have been building up both their blue water and submarine fleets which should also be cause for alarm. They own most of the old Long Beach Naval shipyard and have been getting involved with other shipyards and ports where their good are imported.

I have seen reports on some of the conservative news blogs and internet news that they are heavily involved in the SPP infrastructure building. Could they be building up all this stuff so it will be here for them to use when they take us over?

In the meantime we are pussy footing around over in Iraq and Afghanistan, worrying about killing innocent civilians and watching our servicemen get killed in these senseless suicide bombings and road side bombings staged to get our lame stream media to highlight it on the news to aid the propaganda machine. If the media would stop it’s one sided reporting then the terrorists wouldn’t get the attention they desire and all of this stuff would be over fairy quickly and we could concentrate on the possible Chinese threat.

I was glad to see the amnesty bill get flamed yesterday. Possibly some of the Senators are getting the message. A few were on Fox News yesterday saying they were being intimidated by their constituents into voting against the bill. Also there were so many calls to Senate offices yesterday they overwhelmed the switchboard and it had to be shut down. So the bill was defeated and can not possibly be resurrected under this administration which is good.

But then this morning I heard that now they want to call an emergency session to go ahead and try and pass just a few parts of the bill. Hey idiots, you still have not gotten the message? Enforce the current laws and the problem will be dealt with. Just because this bill has not passed, does not mean the problem with illegal immigration is over. Enforcement of the current laws is a must and people charged to enforce those laws need to be held accountable.

I think everyone who is a victim of a crime committed by an illegal alien should be able to sue the Local, State and United States government for that illegal immigrant being present in the country to commit that crime. Perhaps if the government started getting sued a few hundred times a week it might wake up to the fact that there is no illegal aliens victims if there are no illegal aliens to commit the crimes.

I guess the last thing to comment on would have to be that they found one possible two car bombs in England and got them before they went off thank God. That is what happens under weak immigration laws and non enforcement. Europe knows best and their week stance has resulted in many people who would do them harm being admitted into their country. They took care of these people and now these people are biting the hand that feeds them. Now England has car bombs, I guess you are glad you let all those radical Muslims into your country now.

Anyway time to get some stuff done so I can get out of here. Have a great weekend everyone.

A busy day

June 28th, 2007 -- Posted in News, TV and Radio, Work | No Comments »

Well today is going to be one of those busy days since I will have the class do the practice troubleshooting and then after they are done for the day we have to work on a broken transceiver.

Yesterday after we dismissed the classes and all the military went for their training which they were told was going to last the majority of the day, they came back in about an hour. Since we still had the morning and the entire afternoon left we decided to go ahead and swap a transceiver out with one that we got from the depot. The one we currently had installed has been giving us problems but they have been intermittent, so we figured we would go ahead and swap that one out. After we got the other one installed we found that it didn’t work, but then it has a definite problem so we can actually troubleshoot that one.

We worked on it until knock of and fixed several problems with it. We will finish working on it this afternoon hopefully.

Well that was fun, my class went through the practice problems for the day really quick and then we went ahead and repaired the transceiver. Everything is passing except we need to do the data alignments on it and can’t do that until after it warms up for a while.

So now it is lunch time, and I have a break now for a little while to sit down and rest up.

This morning on the way to work the radio shows were all talking about the amnesty bill that the Senate was supposed to vote on this morning. They were also talking about how John Podesta a former Clinton aid is trying to silence conservative talk radio.

I heard yesterday the congress has an approval rating of 17%. Only 23% or the people are in favor of the amnesty bill yet 65 Senators voted for cloture and I won’t know how today’s vote went until I get home. But you would think that the Senators would see the plummeting approval rating and take it as a sign that the people are not happy. I don’t know why they keep ignoring the people they were elected to represent, but I think the next election could get really interesting.

As far as the radio thing goes, I know most of the shows I listen to love having liberals on because it makes for great debate. Sean Hannity actually said he would allow Hillary Clinton to co-host his radio show for a week. That would be exciting but she would never do it. She would have to answer the hard questions, not the easy stuff tossed to her by CNN or NBC.

All these people that are calling for an end to conservative talk radio like John Kerry and Hillary Clinton will very seldom go on any of the conservative shows even though they have been invited on the air by almost all the hosts. They claim they are not being represented but that is just because they refuse to go on the air.

I have seen the conservative candidates go on MSNBC and CNN but you seldom see the liberals on Fox. In fact they refused to attend a debate sponsored by Fox, so who is being snubbed? Seems to me the only reason they aren’t heard on conservative radio is because they refuse to go on the shows.

There are some liberal shows out there, the biggest being “Air America”. It went into bankruptcy due to lack of listeners and also a whole lot of other legal problems. It is not the conservative’s problem if the liberals refuse to support their own radio programming. I just think it is a shame that since they have not been able to get a viable talk radio show going that they would mess with the free speech rights of others. If they are going to pass this fairness doctrine then I would love to see it exercised against all media. That would include radio, television, magazines, newspapers and the entertainment industry. If you want to make it fair go the whole way, not selectively pick and choose.

Well I guess that is my rant for the day. Hopefully the rest of the day will pass by quickly and I can get a little rest. I am dragging a little bit today.

The week is half over

June 27th, 2007 -- Posted in People, Politics | No Comments »

The halfway point of the week is here, well once I go home anyway. I am not as tired as I was last week at this time, but I am a little worn out just the same. Last night I went to bed a little earlier than normal and got up at the usual time.

Laila and I did our morning routine, and then I came into work but today is going to be another of those quiet days. The military side of the house has another training day so I will pretty much be answering the phone and taking messages, while they are at the mandatory training thing. It is a good thing I am a bit ahead because another day of lost training could have hurt, but since I am ahead it won’t matter.

Also I guess I will be having fun here in a couple of weeks since all the military guys want to take vacation about the same time. They were all looking carefully at my schedule to make sure I am free to teach, which I am. So now they are all happy, since I will be here to cover for everyone.

Yesterday when I got home I saw the news about the death of Chris Benoit and his family. They are saying it must have been Steroid rage and it is really sad and does not make any sense. I guess he killed his wife on Friday, his son on Saturday and himself on Sunday. They found steroids in the home, and I guess he had sent out some bizarre text messages over the weekend. While we will probably never know what happened, it just goes to show that drugs are dangerous.

Also yesterday I guess the Senate held a cloture vote on the immigration reform bill. It was the hot topic on the radio and on Fox News last night. The cloture vote means that they will now debate amendments to the bill. So they are giving the appearance that they are doing something about illegal immigration. Everyone is posturing and all and everyone has something to say. The cloture vote was overwhelmingly approved and passed by a huge margin. This after a pole showed that 79% or the people are against it.

Well the thing that I found funny was that they went ahead and passed this cloture before the bill and the amendments were printed and distributed. I heard that on the Roger Hedgecock Show on my way home from work.

That means that 100 Senators (2 from each state) went ahead and voted to have a bill and amendments go to the floor of the Senate for debate, and since it was not printed and distributed yet not a single one of them had read it. Is this is what we elected them for? They are not representing the people, but their own interests. It is time to start looking for new people for the next election. These people have to go since it is obvious they are not doing their job.

With the commentary I heard last night the thing will never get passed and it is a big dog and pony show. It shows the illegal’s that the government is trying to give them amnesty while it show the people that government is trying to do something about the problem. It will never see the Presidents desk and it gives everyone something to campaign about.

Also I guess the President made a slip of the tongue yesterday and called it what it is, an amnesty for illegals so now they are trying to clear that up.

Basically as I have said, we already have laws on the books and we don’t need new ones, we just need to enforce the old ones. I guess that would be too much to ask for though.

I am also getting sick and tired of the anti war crap and every day hearing that it is a lost cause. The main stream media in this country is giving aid and comfort to the enemy by passing on the enemy’s propaganda. The enemy wants us to leave so they can establish a new terrorist foothold in Iraq. If we leave the whole area will erupt in violence and the terrorists want to make it so unpopular that the people will want to bring the troops home. Once that happens they can set up their training camps and all, and plot and plan to do damage on our shores.

By continually reporting the bad the news is doing just what the enemies want them to do. Paint the war as a lost cause so the people demand the troops be brought back home. If we do that they whole thing would have been a waste of American lives and money. I find what they are doing as despicable.

Well I guess that is my opinion of the day. Time to get my class started on their labs and start taking phone messages. It is going to be a very lonely day here today.

A lot in the news

June 26th, 2007 -- Posted in News, People | No Comments »

Well there was a lot in the news yesterday and this morning. First I hope the wild fires up around the Lake Tahoe area get put out soon and that no more people lose their houses. I also pray for the safety of the firefighters trying to put the fire out.

Paris Hilton is out of jail and so now we will have to see her spoiled brat mug all over the TV set speaking on the terrible time she had in jail. Frankly I could care less, I just wish the media would knock off the coverage. I don’t understand all the coverage. She is just a spoiled little rich kid that wants attention. Don’t give it to her, make her just fade away out of the spotlight.

I heard yesterday that WWE wrestler Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in Georgia. They are investigating it as a murder/suicide. I guess we will here more about it over the next few days. If this is true it is terrible news, as if you are depressed or something there is no reason to take out your entire family. Seek help instead.

Today the Senate votes on the immigration bill. This bill needs to get the thumbs down and I will be interested to see what happens with that. I still can’t believe that these Washington politicians are not hearing the will of the people and keep pushing this thing. Do they think once they get to Washington they are there for life? Well unless they push through legislation to change the term lengths to lifetime appointments I can see many not returning after the next election if they continue to do things for our own good, rather than what we want.

Last night I was amazed at how there was absolutely nothing on television worth watching. I basically watched a DVR recorded copy of “Dexter” and a couple of movies “Lake Placid” and the start of “Carrie”. I really don’t know why we have so many of these reality shows on. NBC was probably the worst line up with “Age of Love” or something like that. They there was “Wife Swap” and “The Nanny” on other channels. All in all it just was not a good night at all for broadcast television.

Laila had to go to the dentist yesterday and found out that she will have to have a tooth pulled. We haven’t decided on getting it replaced with an implant or just get her a false tooth yet. I guess we will talk about it over the next couple of days.

Also last night right after everyone reset she had a power failure so I actually logged out and went to bed a little early. This morning I was still a little tired, but not like yesterday.

On the way to work I was listening to Rick Roberts on the radio. He had a cold and says that when he feels down and out he likes to do some physical labor to sweat it out. Sounds like a good idea to me. Anyway when he was working he was talking to an 8 year old either a relative or friend’s child, and the kid knowing he was on the radio kept asking him about items in the news.

Rick finally asked him of all the things in the news what scared him the worst, and was told global warming. I guess they were shown the Al Gore film in school. He was asked what was his second biggest fear he was told that man is killing all the trees and when asked what his third biggest fear was, he was told that President Bush is throwing people in prison and treating them badly. All of this was from a second grader. Rick then asked where he heard all this stuff and he was told in school.

When he asked the kid if he was scared of terrorists the kid told Rick that he was more scared of global warming. I guess we now will have to start debriefing our children since they are being spoon fed a ton of crap in school.

I watched a news item over the weekend where the Al Gore folks were all spun up because the ocean levels are not rising as predicted so their global warming theory is going up in smoke. Also the scientists on Al Gore’s side are a small minority. I still think it is a load of crap and that the earth is just going through its normal cycle. It just gives Al Gore another platform to run on, for his next defeat in attempt to become President.

I was also surprised to see Bill O’Reilly expose John Edwards on his show last night. I guess John Edwards who is running for President has been funneling money into a whole ton of fake charities if I heard it right. I guess we won’t be hearing about that on CNN or NBC. They will be talking more about the release of Paris Hilton instead though.

Well today the work day will be different. We replaced the antenna’s we teach with more up to date versions as I blogged about a couple of weeks ago. Well today is the day when we need to turn in the old ones. The only problem is that it looks like the only vehicles we can get are a few pickup trucks so this is going to take several trips. Oh well, that is life I guess.

So speaking of that I had better get to work watching this show, as they get everything buttoned up and moved out. I need to make sure no body gets hurt

Up late again

June 25th, 2007 -- Posted in News, Unification Wars, Work | No Comments »

Well Monday is here again so it was back to work again, and with that the disadvantage of getting up early. 5:15 AM comes so early on a Monday especially if I stay up too late on Sunday as I did last night.

I was about to log out early for the evening when I discovered that my space programs would be available just after 1 AM. Since that is a free 64,000 planets and is on an 18 our cycle getting them last night kind of set me up to get them over the next couple of days, rather than get them the same time each day.

The only bad thing was that I was supposed to go to RT large before I went to bed and I forgot to do that. I am in large now, but I won’t accumulate the full 1800 turns before I get home from work. That is a drag, and I may just log on, update OP and then get some other stuff done rather than play right off the bat today.

Today will be a quiet day at work. I will finish up the classroom stuff and get ready for labs tomorrow. The labs for OTCIXS and TADIXS are really quick and easy, so it will be a good week. I did have to do some prep work first thing this morning. When the printed up our new schematics they forgot all the OTCIXS stuff, so I had to run some copies off. I always dread having to do that because there is always a line there, but there was not line this morning and I got them done up right away.

The radio today was more about the demise or conservative talk radio and illegal immigration. Same old subjects but they are getting more and more heated as time goes on. I think all of this is going to be a major campaign issue and I don’t think the politicians in Washington know how big these issues are going to hurt them at the polls.

In the past when there were issues like these they would just ignore them and figure the people would forget about the issues when they went to the polls. That was before and now is now. As Fox News and talk radio keeps the heat turned up people are not forgetting the issues as they did in the past. The Main Stream Media has managed to lose credibility viewer ship and readership is suffering because of it. I wonder why Fox hasn’t gone ahead and ran Shepard Smith’s show up against the big three on the Fox broadcast channel?

Well I guess that is about it for today. It is time to get started with the weekly work and all. Have a great week.

Headache

June 24th, 2007 -- Posted in Computers | No Comments »

Well the end of the weekend had rolled around and though I got a lot done I am still not quite finished.

This morning I got up a little early for a Sunday and Laila and I said the rosary and then she went to bed. I also went to bed and got up and ready for the 11 AM mass, but we didn’t quite make it so we decided to go to the 12:30 instead.

I finally got around to trying to fix the PC today. I have pieces parts from two other PC’s and none of the power supplies were compatible, so I either need to make a trip to Circuit City or maybe get one of the other ones working.

I finally decided to just give myself a break from the and then got ready for mass again. We got there on time and then we went to Jack in the Box for lunch.

Right now I could have signed on to the game, but I have an awful headache right now and I can’t seem to concentrate on anything. I know if I log on I will be posting OP and all the rest of the afternoon and night, so I am going to take some aspirin and try and get rid of the headache.

Other than that things are quiet and I think we are going to watch a movie for a bit. I will probably log onto the game in a few so I can at least post or update the outpost and work on some infra.

I just don’t want to have all the chats going on that usually are on while playing. It gets to confusing to keep track of and especially when I feel the way I do right now.

So that is pretty much it for today. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Glad It’s Friday

June 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in News, Politics | No Comments »

Wow, Friday is finally here and I am glad about that. I haven’t blogged about this yet but I guess the latest and greatest I have been hearing on the radio is the fact that Congress wants to reel in conservative talk radio.

It has been widely known that Hillary Clinton and her crowd want to shut it down, but now the conservatives want to shut it down too. Probably because the administration is being bashed on all the major talk radio shows over illegal immigration, with some even calling for the impeachment of the President.

Just hearing this being talked about is a little frightening. Liberals own the most of the television airwaves, newspapers, and the education system. The only voice of reason comes from conservative talk radio and after the total collapse of Air America, they are now going to try and legislate talk radio away.

I look at it as a freedom of speech and freedom of the press issue. If they take these outlets away and still continue to pump us full of nothing but their leftist views I see a drastic change in this country. Frankly I don’t they will be able to do it as I am sure it will result in lawsuits and ultimately be settled by the Supreme Court.

Well enough on that, the tech reps showed up today and sure enough it was what I thought it was, a compatibility issue. We have to modify the pin outs of some of our connectors. So I guess we’ll be taking care of that next week.

So now I am just waiting to get out of here for the weekend and get some rest. It hasn’t seemed like it but it has been a long week and I am really tuckered out.

I will try and blog over the weekend. I have been getting lazy lately and have been ignoring it. Have a good weekend everyone.

Glad that is over

June 21st, 2007 -- Posted in Work | No Comments »

Well today was the big day of my annual Instructor evaluation from the people who teach at the instructor training school. Since it was scheduled last week and I knew about it in advance I had planned on being up to a point where I would be teaching something exciting.

Anyway yesterday the class was borrowed by another instructor for his Instructor of the Quarter evaluation, and I also had to retest a student, and then we had some equipment problems in one of the labs, so before I knew it the day was effectively dead.

That meant having to teach the introduction to OTCIXS/TADIXS which is about as exciting as watching grass grow, or waiting for damage protection after 11 PM on a week night. I have always had a nice lead in where I have everything online and operational. They get to see the message traffic sailing back and forth between the Tactical Data Processors and everything being tracked on the Naval Order Wire terminals, while the receive and transmit lights are going on and off and there is quite a bit of action. I then explain an overview of what is going on and that by the end of the area they will know how all of the stuff works and how to fix it.

I then go into the safety precautions and demonstrate that there is power coming to the units even when the power is off by turning off one of the units and waiting for the receive light to come on. The receive light is actually powered on but the transceiver so even with the power secured, there is a possibility of current and voltage being present. Even though it is a very low voltage 28 V, if you touch it the surprise will cause you to jump back and maybe hit something, so it is still a hazard. It makes for a great demonstration.

After that though I have to go through the all the chapters of the five technical manuals we use for the area and explain what they contain, which gets really boring. I usually keep things lively by using a few jokes and all to keep people from falling asleep.

The lesson actually contains a lot more than that but we get evaluated for only one class period and I finished the last technical manual just about time for the break.

The evaluation was really good, and he gave me a few ideas to make things a little better. I used to have all the technical manuals all ready set up on the desks at the start of class, but over the years changed to pass them out when I got ready to use those manuals. He said that was a bit distracting and so we talked about that and came up with a few good ideas. We can either put them in binders or number them and I like the idea. In the past the reason I got away from leaving them on the desks is because the some of the students would be in the wrong manual and stuff like that. If I number them it would cut down on the distractions and all.

He also pointed out that I tend to rock back and forth, something I didn’t realize I do, so I took note of that. Overall he was pleased and told me I did a great job and then we shot the breeze for a while before it was time for me to head back to the classroom.

Yesterday the problem we had in the lab was fun and we all got involved. Our DAMA equipment has needed some work for quite a while. While the boys were getting the new antennas and all, they also got a hold of some DAMA racks and parts and a few of them along with some of the graduating students went to town rebuilding the entire classroom. The DAMA equipment works great now and hopefully all of our cable problems have gone away.

In addition to that we used to have these old Bit Error Rate Testers, we called them BERT’s that were on their last legs. I don’t know the brand name but the things were ancient and I think we were down to where only two were working. When they got the DAMA racks they managed to get a hold of some Firebirds, a piece of test equipment that would do the same thing a BERT would do and then some. I guess they were also sitting in the warehouse, we don’t know for how long, but the calibration dates indicated they may have been there since 1997.

We broke out the manual for the Firebirds, which referred us to the DAMA manuals, then found that the DAMA manuals referred us to the test equipment manuals. Well that that was a huge help. The person doing the work on the system read and reread everything and it looked to him that everything was hooked up properly so he fired everything off but the firebirds were not talking to the DAMA units. They tried several different setups with the firebirds but didn’t seem to get anywhere.

The after being turned on for about an hour all of sudden we smelled that awful smell of burnt electronic components. We quickly secured everything to make sure we did not start a fire and then checked out the DAMA unit. When the smell started it had tripped the main breaker so we figured that might be the problem, especially since we replaced the power supply in that one a few weeks ago. It turned out to be the firebird though. I guess they had been sitting around the warehouse for quite a long time and after not being powered up for years one of the capacitors blew. The dielectric was that awful burning smell. Of course the smell of burning electronic equipment had everyone sticking their head in the door to see what was up, and then of course we had to endure all the sparky and letting the smoke out jokes.

We replaced the unit and continued. We finally though we had the right set up but then noticed something else that was different. Whenever we put the firebird in MIL STD 188C mode, which the DAMA the DAMA main breaker goes, and it did it on every station we tried it on. So it looks like a compatibility problem.

I know when they did OTCIXS and installed the TDP’s we had to put in some converters to make the terminals compatible, and that is what it looks like here. Anyway I told him to call someone over at SPAWAR and see if there were any special adapters needed or something like that.

They are going to send someone over to check it out sometime during the week. Hopefully that’s all it is, and it will be an easy fix.

This afternoon is pretty quiet. Everyone went to the San Diego Padres/Baltimore Orioles game. I still haven’t gone to a Baseball game since the last strike and am sticking with that.

Anyway time to get back to work. Have a great day.

Almost late

June 20th, 2007 -- Posted in Daily Rant | No Comments »

Every wake up one morning and everything you do takes a little more time? Well that was today, for me at least, and I felt there was a conspiracy to make me late. The conspiracy failed, because I got here on time, but I was beginning to wonder.

This morning was one of those days where I hit the snooze alarm I time too many. Then the hot water in the shower felt so good that I stayed in there a little longer than normal. I got down stairs a few minutes after 6, normally between 5:30 and 5:45.

Laila and I did our morning routine and I got out of the house and all on time. When I got to the car there was dew all over the windows so I had to clean all the windows so I could see, so there was my first delay.

I got through the neighborhood ok but when I got to Reo there was a lot more traffic than normal. The same thing happened all the way to the freeway, there were about twice as many cars on the road.

When I did get to the freeway it too was backed up and I was beginning to wonder about all the traffic. I went ahead an finished the short freeway ride and go to the place where I go a short was through a residential area before getting to the base with no problem and then when I got halfway through there the police had a bunch of the streets blocked off. I guess there was something gone on though I didn’t hear anything about it on the news.

It took a while to get through there as everyone was stopping to see what was going on, me included, and then I got to the gate.

Actually the gate was pretty quick as they were training new people and they had extra folks assigned. It went really fast but then when I got in the gate it seemed everyone was going to the gym, which I pass by on the way to the building where I work. Also I don’t know what the person in front of me was doing but they were all over the road. Couldn’t have been a cell phone because it is illegal to talk on a cell phone and drive on base. There definitely was something going on other than just driving though. Maybe they were reading the paper or something.

Anyway after that person turned off it was smooth sailing to the building and so I made it on time despite all the things slowing me down.

Laila has actually started updating her blog again. The only problem was that she did it in Tagalog so I had no idea what it said. Oh well, she’ll tell me about it. Also it appears my new PC is attracting a lot of dust and cat hair, so I will look at a way to reduce that. I currently have it on the floor, probably not the best spot.

Anyway I suppose that is about it for now. Have a great day everyone.
